    Our philosophy

    what should it be?

not sure it needs to be barca like (would be great if it turned out like that though)

if you look at how we played under Paisley for instance.

anyway feel free to say what you think.

oh not sure if this thread is in the right place

i think we already know in some way. pass and move, drop handgrenades, etc...

if it's semi obvious to borrell, then i can't see roy hanging around long once a decision is made.

What do you mean by philosophy? On-field playing philosophy? Business philosophy? Development philosophy?

It was Bill shankly that said it not Roy Evans and if it was good enough for one of the greatest managers this country has seen then its good enough for me. LFC exists to win and be the best and we shouldn't settle for second best.

The things LFC won under this "poorly thought out philosophy" is not too shabby

For a start it be nice to be named in the same breath as the chavs and the scum when they talk at the start of every season about who will win the league.

i suppose i mean on field philosophy our development philosophy will provide players that will fit in with it.

and the shanks thing is true but it doesnt answer the question and i am not sure that shanks would have answered it if he was seriously answering this question.

Maybe not a philosophy, more a mission statement "Liverpool football club exists to win trophies" .........simple as.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

That then brings us to question two - do you mean what our philosophy is NOW? Or what it generally has been throughout LFC history, or what we THINK it should be?

I dont think much of what's happening at LFC now is in keeping with what the club traditionally stands for or what we think it should be all about.

The past few years are a very small time in the history of LFC and we will get through this and get back to where we belong.

                      LFC exists to win trophies.

well this stems for the ex barca guys no need to copy barca interview.

if we are implementing a similar off field philosophy or structure then what way of playing or philosophy should that support

Ajax used to have a famous philisophy and all the teams in the club followed it.

and to win isnt the answer it might be a mission statement but it wont give us shape footballing identity etc.

Our philosophy should be to scour the world, to try and bring in players who have the hunger and desire to be winners, who have the knowledge, respect and awe of what Liverpool Football Club stands for, what it has achieved and what its name means in the world of football, but to also have the belief, confidence, passion and mentality to want to be a part of that, and add to it, in order to not only understand and respect the history and meaning of LFC, but to add their own legacy to the story.

It is a philosophy which encourages the development of young players, both local and otherwise, to take them through the machine that is LFC, so their footballing mentality is born and raised according to that of Liverpool Football Club, and adheres to all that is great about LFC.

Most importantly, the philosophy of LFC is to always conduct itself in a dignified, sporting and respectful manner, to maintain its family feel, to always endeavour to compete at the highest level of football, to win trophies and make its supporters happy and proud to be part of the world's greatest ever sporting institution.

We need to get back to brining youth through the ranks and the players should know it is an honour to put on the famous red top.

I once saw an interview with an ex player cant remember who but he said that a lot of players now think that once you sign for LFC than the hard work is over as you have made it when it was the opposite when he was playing. Thats something we should try and bring back.

Craig not sure that gives us an on the pitch identity like say ajax used to or barca have or arse have.

and LiverpoolTJ i think that its common in football now not just here.

i do agree with both posts though
