If you want to win the league then you must have excellent owners and an excellent board that understands the game something we hasn't had since before Moores took over as a majority owner.

That is the main reason to why we haven't won the league in the last 20 years. Not the managers fault or the players fault.

We haven't had an ambitious owner that wanted us to win no matter what in a long time and that is what you need to win.

A owner and a board that backs the manager 100% and understands what the manager needs and improves the club off the pitch.

Hansen as usual talks a lot of crap.

It doesn't matter who the manager is if the board and owner is ****. Look at all the teams that won the PL the last 20 years. Why did Blackburn win it, why did Arsenal win it, why did Man U win it, why did Chelsea win it.

The new stadium should have been built 10-15 years ago. That is the biggest **** up ever in our history that it hasn't been built yet.

It cost the club a lot of money every season. £2m-£3m a home game then some ex players expects us to win the league. Totally laughable.

We fans can never expect the team to win the league or demand to do it as long as we lose out on £2m-£3m every home game.

£2m-£3m every home game means something like £50m a year that we could have spent on signing much better players.

Then we would have been able to afford players like Aguero, Alves, Ronaldo, Pato etc.....

Arn we are a team in the North West, I dont think we could ever generate 3 miliion a game at home. Isn't that what Arsenal make?

not 100% but think that was a record between 2 british clubs only.

it was around the same time as Platt and Gazza went to italy for a lot more.

TBH, they could charge those prices and they'd easily fill a stadium if we were playing good football and winning things.

Some fans would have to give up their season tickets due to prices, but there'd be plenty standing in line behind them to take the tickets of their hands.

Funnily enough, it's what NESV did at Boston. Ticket prices rose massively. Hard to say if they'll do that here though.

Tell that to Man U. We should at least earn as much as them. Being a London club will always be an advantage but to be so far behind Man U when it comes down to revenue is just sad

Collymore wasn't a world record though, just a British transfer record, which I think Saunders was.

I should say, money spent by a British club on a player.

saunders wasnt a british transfer record, only record between british clubs

also as the OP had originally said that it was UK transfer record I was only talking about british records.

Fair enough, but I think it's unfair comparing what are club was spending in comparison to clubs from abroad who were spending ridiculous amounts.

I think if you match what LFC was spending alongside other British clubs, we were never that far behind early on in the 90's. Actually, it's only recently where we haven't been one of the biggest spenders in the transfer market.

You could argue LFC should by rights have won at least one title with the amounts we've spent.

Yes but they do charge up to £94 for premier league games. I can't see that ever happening at (new) Anfield

Very small percentage of those tickets cost £94, but their average price will certainly far outweigh our's.
