IF we win this (and it's a long way off, i know - 50 minutes in an eternity in Hodgson-years), we go 1 point off 6th, which isnt too bad.

But the points-gap to City in 4th, is still painful to see.

      Agree.

Although to be fair to Kuyt, he should never, ever be played out wide in a 4-4-2.

Anyone know what Bodgson said there?
        Are we winning?

No it doesn't, it means you have no clue on how to use data.

What's Johnson done wrong tonight, to be called a chump?

Now that's a line I didn't expect to read on here unless it was to do with a twitter championship!

You're obviously the stat expert so I can't argue with that.

                  Moving along now...

Johnson's made one or two poor passes. Lucas has been superb though.

Come on guys, you've said your bit RE Maxi, can we just try and enjoy the match now please? It's not as if we get to enjoy many.

It's ridiculous. It's more like Brynnerpool versus Aston Goodhew.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

JohnDoe - you also have to bear in mind that Maxi is hardly playing for a free-flowing side that encourages it's wide midfielders to get forward and score goals.

I think you'd struggle to find any LFC wide midfielder in recent years, who would have a favourable goals-per-games record.

And before anyone mentions Kuyt, he's a striker

Crap distribution and he's been done for pace a couple of times. Yes, I'm being harsh!

BBC text for the second goal:

"Liverpool goal: Incredible. Villa lose the ball from the restart, Liverpool pounce like starved tigers fror Lucas to ping a nice floated pass over the top. Ryan Babel looks a shade offside but carries on regardless: control, hold off the defender, and fire across Freidel to double our lead? You bet. Villa staring down the barrel."

Maybe not, but you'd be forgiven for thinking he has not been on the right hand side for years. He's had plenty of time to learn. Basic first touch has let him down so far.
