They have to get the ball in advanced areas to do that. I guess if we sit deeper and allow them back in it they'll be starting in advanced positions though.

We seem to retreat and defend deep instinctively as the game progresses and I wouldn't be surprised if they really make this an interesting game.

Sorry wasn't having a go at you, it's just that it has been suggested on here before that more possession equals playing better but that is just not the case, it just means you've had the ball more.

Just emphasising that if you have the ball more you control the game better than giving it up and trying to contain the opponent. Then we're playing at home.

I dont mind that we sat back a bit after the 2nd goal, to ensure our 2-0 lead stayed until HT.

If we sit back for the majority of the 2nd half, then we'll be in bother and i wont be happy with it.

Evidence this season points to yes, but with Villas midfield being so poor they would likely fail to seize the initiative anyways.
