Newcastle United vs Liverpool: Match Thread

Fernando Torres returns to the Liverpool starting XI for tonight's clash at Newcastle United - listen live online from 5.25pm.

The Spain star is back in the line-up after he missed Monday's win over Aston Villa due to the birth of his son.

It means Roy Hodgson makes one change to his team, with Ryan Babel dropping down to the bench.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Konchesky, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Meireles, Lucas, Kuyt, Maxi, Ngog, Torres. Subs: Jones, Kelly, Aurelio, Poulsen, Cole, Jovanovic, Babel.

I'm quite torn on the possible outcome of this match.

On one hand, this is an away game that we can really win convincingly.

On the other hand, we're managed by Hodgson and that means we can lose any one off game (The reverse Rafa effect).

I knew that, I just wanted to make it clear I'm not the sort of loser who starts failed match threads.

                          ROUTLEDGE ISN'T PLAYING!

New Newcastle boss Alan Pardew makes two changes following the defeat at West Brom. Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton come into the midfield instead of Wayne Routledge and Danny Guthrie. For Liverpool, Fernando Torres replaces Ryan Babel in attack.

Just shows what a clueless manager Pardew is.
