Players have too much power, I can see why we consulted the senior players (in an attempt to keep them) but the episode with Carragher and Hodgson and Gerrard suggesting Curbishley last time shows their opinion isn't worth much, and if they don't like it, tough.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

          Some stuff from the chalkboards.

The most striking aspect today was how many challenges we lost out on. Over half.

Konchesky didn't win a single tackle all game (and barely even went in for any).

Soto lost pretty much every challenge he went in for. There wasn't a single aerial challenge in our third that he won.

Likewise Skrtel can only point to 2 challenges he won.

Shocking stuff really from the defence especially, but the whole team were outfought in the duels in a way I've rarely seen before.

Kuyt's passing was really terrible. Meireles lost the ball a lot too, but seemed very mobile, popping up all over the pitch.

Leiva was one of the best on the ball according to the chalkboards, but offered little defensively. Rodriguez only gave the ball away passing wise 4 times in the whole game.

I'm struck as ever by how deep we sit.

Also, the 2 wide men only put in 1 cross between them all game (by Kuyt in the 54th minute). This is something that is a common occurrence.

I don't know how the **** we can be so bad away from home.

And this is followed by the rather obvious I don't know how the **** Hodgson can keep his job. I'm at a complete loss as to how he has hung on for so long. Even if he was to get the sack today I'd still wonder how he made it to this stage.

But he'll still be here in the summer. It wouldn't suprise me if he's still here at the start of next season.

They would have been there for the taking today if we'd have had our game plan set up correctly. If they'd have gone behind the crowd would have turned very quickly.

Hodgson's away record is just astounding. You would think he would have won more than he has just out of pure luck. You're got to be doing something very, very wrong to have the away record he has.

The thing I hate most about Roy is the way he tries to spin everything so that he seems to bear no responsibility at all.

Caroll looks like he could be a new Drogba. He'd be a handful for any defender. It's not often you see Kyrgiakos get outclassed in the air, but today was one occasion. And Skrtle... ****ing hell. The thing all the great defenders have in common? They stayed on their feet. Friggin Skrtle is bouncing off everyone. Like bamby on ****ing ice at times. He's a decent defender, but we should be aiming much higher.

If we could get a strong manager in, I'd love to see us make a move for Caroll. He's going to be big. Best aerial player around at the moment. Great link up play. Decent pace. Good work ethic. Our best chance of signing him would be now, while he's still considered a bit of a gamble. In another season of two (max) he'll be snapped up by Utd, Chelsea or Man City.

You're full of **** Kris fair play, but I couldn't agree more with the above post

We are in great need of a new CB and Caroll would be a decent signing, could form a nice partnership with Torres, we need a new manager and some new signings in January.

The symbolism of yesterday's game can't be overstated - a team whose manager absolutely should not have been sacked playing a team whose manager absolutely should. I really can't take much more of Roy, this season I feel like a neutral fan when checking out the premiership because, under Roy, Liverpool simply do not exist.

This is nothing new these things have been endemic in the vast majority of our games under Roy

We are far too passive in and out of possession under Roy

Its the first thing I'd work on IF I was a coach

I'd have us closing down quicker and pressing higher

roy isnt the right man for the job thats one thing we can all agree on. however, he's not being supported by our big players. torres was so bad yesterday it was laughable. he looks a completely different player and to be frank hodgson shouldnt have put him in the team yesterday. he should have started with the team that beat villa and played babel instead. in fact babel did more in the 20 mins he was on that torres did in his 90.

something has happened to pepe because he looks fat, slow and dithering. its just not like him at all. theres no way he should he beaten from 30 yards out with a low shot.

the senior players havent responded to roy so you either get rid of roy or you get rid of those two and start again. frankly it doesnt matter what carragher thinks because this is probably his last season as automatic first choice. but given how easily skrtel got unruffled by ranger yesterday maybe he'll play on until hes 40.

yet another bad performance. benitez was right in that this current squad has reached the end of its natural cycle. we need to bring in probably 7 or 8 new faces and start again. only reina, johnson, gerrard, meireles, torres and ngog should be retsined and the rest should be moved on for new blood.

we need at least one new first choice central defender, a left back, at least 2 new central midfield players including a dog of war, two new wide midfield players and another world class striker to put pressure on torres.

the squad and team need a complete overhaul
