Do you know why he doesn't?

I was just was told that he wanted it in the summer, but now he doesnt - he feels the club are three years minimum away from being where they need to be, and at his age, he doesnt want to take on the task.

i still reckon the draw of resolving unfinsdhed business with us would get him back no probs

Surely we're as far away as we were when he first wanted it?

Anyhow, I was saying explicitly as a caretaker. I'm sure he'd do that for us. The reasons given are about taking it on long term, not as caretaker.

His task would only be to steer the club in the right direction until summer.

Of course if he doesn't want job no reason to force the issue.

The club is going nowhere with Roy.

If we can't get the man we want until the summer get a short term option in like Chavs did with Hiddink. That or get someone in with a view to extend if they do well.

I think it would be worth spending cash on a temp manager. There are any number of options, ones with LFC connections and also fresh faces. O'Neil, Rijkaard, Phil Thompson. All free. All would take the job. I'm there are loads more who would take a 6 month deal.

it could be argued that he's actually wasting our season by playing and not vice versa.

Lads on another note there are signings on the horizon for january but no stellar names. Just players who are steady with the potential to be really good.

Dont know any names but thats what ive been told so i guess that means that we will not be seeing the likes of eden hazard and co.

I'd take a short term appointment now, I believe that almost anyone could do a better job than Hodgson.

Even with the dross we're serving up at home we've managed 17 out of a possible 24 points, it's our away form that's killing us: 5 points out of a possible 27, i think almost any other manager could get our squad to perform better than that.

At this stage a top 4 finish has gone IMO we're fighting for a Europa League spot, we have nothing to lose, I honestly believe things couldn't get any worse, a short term/caretaker appointment if not a long term successor could at least help us keep the current players. If we stick with Roy to the end of the season alot of our better players will want out, regardless of whether he'll be here next year or not!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I miss that team so much. On the verge of greatness.

Yep, we ripped them to pieces that day, without even getting out of 2nd gear.

The only thing roy has ripped, is a few facial muscles, with that uber-rubbing he did yesterday.

                                One word of caution.

The voices of popular opinion last year said at times that anyone could do a better job than Rafa. And boy were they wrong. I'd sack him and take the gamble mind.
