I do believe though, he is our version of Bryan Robson, when he gets old/retires the glory will return.

That said he's a legend, certainly in the top 10 of Liverpool players ever.

Having said that, I do believe he is a true Club legend, unlike Carthorse Carragher.

A Gerrard who didn't take corners would maybe get 5/6 more goals a season? I'd have him.

Part of his problem and the team's problem is that everything has to go through him

That's why he was pushed upfront but then, we had Alonso & a stronger manager at the time. The idea was always to share responsibilities and to direct his play into areas where he is more efficient.

and now we have a manager that would probably lick Gerrards arse if Gerrard told him to do it.

I think what Arn wanted to show is that, as a team player or 'leader', he is far from being as good as he is purported to be. Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic player, has been decisive in a lot of games but if you look at it more closely, you'll probably see that those games are not the bread and butter ones. He's been as culpable as anyone for a lot of our mediocre results.

No need for that. He's got a far better point than you think.

and some people think just because he is Gerrard he shouldn't be blamed. I don't put any player above criticism and never will. Some people like Craig clearly think that just because he is Gerrard he isn't allowed to be criticized.

If a player sulks then he is an idiot. Torres acted like one in a few games but he isn't our Captain. If you are the Captain then you aren't allowed to sulk a single second. You are the player that people look up to and you are the player that must show a great attitude in tough times to show the rest of the team that we never give up.

Gerrard isn't a leader on the pitch. Hyypia was our real leader and we haven't replaced his leadership qualities.

Would Hyypia allowed a single player to sulk? Not a chance. He would probably only stared at him in disgust and then the player would suddenly pick up his game. That isn't happening now when he is gone. Gerrard isn't Captain enough to do that.

I am not saying Gerrard shouldn't be blamed but to say we are better off without him is plain stupid. We are a team so if we lose everyone to blame. Arn's reasons behind his constant criticism of of Gerrard and Carragher is that because he loves Rafa and blames them for him getting the sack. Gerrard is the best player we have and we would be ****ed without him. Get over this whole Rafa bull**** please mate.

Bull**** or not, I think Rafa deserves a lot of credit for getting the best out of him. His point mainly revolves around the well known assumption that Gerrard has an attitude problem. Great player yes, but don't be fooled that he's 'indispensable' as he seems to be. A well directed Gerrard is without a doubt, an asset to this club, but he needs reigning in and to date, Rafa has been the best at it.

I don't blame Gerrard and Carragher for getting Rafa the sack. That one was down to Purslow.

A better and stronger CEO would just ignored them and looked at the whole picture, long and short term.

He was the one letting players influence the decision allegedly and all that and that should never be allowed to happen.

If I was manager, he'd be on the right whether he liked it or not. He's got so much to offer out there its untrue, especially because we're hugely lacking on either flank with the current system.

GERARD is a centre mid - its his best position and he's our best player. so he should always play - he is a DEFO MUST - and he must play centrally.
