Couldn't agree more. Its just embarassing on all sides and the rest of us really don't want to read anymore of it.

Oh, and as for the thread topic.....

Steven Gerrard. One of our club's greatest ever players. Not having the most amazing year by his own standards, but he's still a mile better than anyone else we could put on the pitch. Everything else is basically bullsh*t; form is temporary but class is permanent, a fit Stevie G is quite obviously a must.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

For the mod squad turning up after the event's all been rectified, as ever

The situation has already been resolved peacefully & amicably, via PM, with both Nigel and Arn

Torres and Reina is better than him IMO.

Dunno if arn was being serious

But this season, whatever the reason, Torres has been ****.

Neither play in a position Gerrard would, so don't matter :bird:

I'm sure he is - but he's not giving 100% and i dont think he's worthy of a place in the team just now.

If I was Roy, I'd drop him. He's not working for Roy, what ever the reason is.

If I was a new manager, he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet and I'd play a system that suited his play - One that's attacking

TBH, I'm forgetting about everyone and how they've performed so far. When a new manager turns up and we actually start attacking teams I'll make the judgements then.

We just better get a manager that plays pro active when searching for goals, as opposed to just reacting to opposition mistakes like Roys system.
                      Forwards.......

We need to keep the heartbeat of the team, Torres and Reina are the most important players in the squad.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I think someone said recently "what is class but sustained good form?" I have to say there is more than a grain of truth in that and consequently given his less consistent form you have to accept that Gerrard is less the clearly class player he was before his last run of injuries. I'm not saying he won't get it back, there is clearly the potential for that but he may well need to adapt his game as his body changes.

A second point I think is worth making is that it should be about the team. It took Rafa a while to mould a team that got the best out of Gerrard without negatively impacting others. Roy certainly hasn't done the same and I do think it is a harder problem than it is sometimes made out.

Is Gerrard essential when we have a poor team which isn't more than the sum of it's parts, undoubtedly yes. Should we be working to a position where that is no longer the case, almost certainly. Will Gerrard be the most important player during the transition, most probably.
