Based on Arns posts I'd imagine it may be because Gerrard was supposedly behind Rafa getting the chop. It can be nothing to do with his qualities as a footballer.

not that i'd want us to lose - but with nothing on the game, a half empty stadium with no atmosphere - and mixmatch starting XI were it appears he is hoping some of the more senior players will get him a result.....i have a feeling we may see a little bit of lack of motivation in this game, some sloppy passing, and general not much to shout about other than moaning, before a late goal from a defensive error see us lose 1-0

and that'd it be the end of it.

I'm not suggesting the players are going to go out and lose on purpose to get him sacked...- i just have a feeling at the moment no-one can be arsed with this match (other than the youngster who obv want the chance to play), no-one can be arsed with hodgson......and with all this talk of him being on the verge.....well it's happend before at other clubs when managers have been one or two games away from the sack, and the players seem to lose that spring in the step or sharpness in the pass or steel in the tackle

In fairness to Roy...........

I'd play Torres tonight as well and I'd drop him from the game on the weekend if he has another stinker. He's in terrible form and if Ngog was playing like that he'd be getting some serious stick.

I'd lay a lot of the blame at Roys feet for the way he's been playing him. But regardless, if I was playing a system that didn't work with Torres in the team, I'd drop him.
