Spoke really well, came across as a lovely lad, very genuine and very mature too - it's easy to forget he's still only 23, but he's already at the stage where you'd almost call him a 'senior' member of the squad.

Loved the question about Hodgson: "Do you feel you've grown as a player, under Roy?"

He pauses for a few seconds, trying to work out if he can be honest and still say the right thing Then he answers it with 'yeah i think so, i am getting better every year' - completely absolving Hodgson from anything to do with his improvement

I wish I'd seen it. I've never had a problem with him. There was a seriously good post about a year and a half ago about how Rafa might have seen him fitting into a phase 3 of the squad.

Alan Green's almost mantric criticism of him over the last few seasons have really put me off him as a commentator, and more in the lazy journo category.

That's daft, it's a part of the bonding of team mates ffs, roomed up with a mate while away..talking into the small hours about the game, and how **** a manager you currently play for.

i think i read somewere that they haven't roomed together for years.
