I'm keen to try and find out later on today, what Cole's reaction to this has been.

What an absolute buffoon. He just cannot say the right things, even if he was asked the most basic question like "what time is it?" he would completely **** it up and end up looking like a bellend.

The thing that the idiot doesnt realise, is that it's not so much the position that's causing Joe problems - he's ok to play wide - it's the utterly dire tactics, the sitting deep and the negating of creative play, that is causing Cole to underperform.

          The blame lies with Bodger.

It's certainly the tactics but I think it's the formation as well he's better on the left of the group of 3 behind the striker in the 4-2-3-1 than on the wing in a flat 4-4-2.

I don't think Cole has ever been as effective on the left wing in a 4-4-2

It's also further proof of this sham that Hodgson is actually a bright bloke. It's painfully obvious he isn't.

Yes, but my point was, in terms of 'willingness' to play a position, Cole doesnt have a problem with playing on the wing. He's not demanding to play in the hole. The thing he's struggling with is the mentality and tactics, which are not designed to utilise the talents of a winger. Case in point, how has Kuyt done this season? He's been poor too.

True, but it's obvious to everyone (except Hodgson) that the 4-2-3-1 formation suits most of our better players better than a 4-4-2. Switch formation and I think we'll see improvements from Cole, Kuyt, Gerrard and Torres, and as a result the team as a whole but Hodgson is too dumb to see it.

exactly - one interview he doesn't know which position is best for meireles, and the now, once meireles has clearly settled in cm(which from day one every single person put roy could see he was cleary only ever a centre mid)....he takes full responsibility for him

Shocking. It's not his fault that he's a senile old ****, so far out of depth it's unreal.

But I think he's far cuter than people give him credit for (certainly we have been getting an education into his character these last few months).
Its not his pride preventing him from walking away......he's waiting for that lucrative push.
