He is a very talented footballer that is just horribly out of form, i don't think Roy's tactics suit Cole anyways and maybe he would flourish under different management but Cole really needs to knuckle down and improve, could be a vital player for us in the second half of the season.
But it's not 'regardless of position or tactics', it's because of them.

He's been poor - can you name more than 3 LFC players who have been good this season?

The players arent ALL suddenly ****. The common denominator is Bodger.

His performances have been **** in general and i'm a massive fan of Cole, i have no doubts he would improve under a better manager but Cole has to look at himself, he is just horribly out of form at the moment but IMO will improve.

He's hasn't been poor like many, he's been ****ing atrocious.

The thing with Cole is when was the last full season he played and was on form?

I have a horrible feeling Cole is the new Kewell, injury's mean he's not the dynamic signing we all thought he might have been.

Ancellotti didn't move heaven and earth to re-sign him and there must be a reason why.

The Bodger is not wrong in his assessment, what is wrong is he publicly shouldn't be expressing it.
            We come not to play.

I meant putting aside his tactics and concentrating on Cole's individual performance himself.

              I did say "i don't think Roy's tactics suit Cole" :O

Touch/Technique etc all way way off for a normally technically sound player. He is just way off form and having a bit of a mare, he'll come good IMO.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I think Benayoun is a better player.

Again you are not and cannot put such major factors aside.

My own view is that nigh-on everyone's been utter **** this season.

i think we're ignoring that for the best part of the previous season this was already true. i don't want to support hodgson at all--in fact, he was brought in to improve the form of our players, and that obviously hasn't happened--but our players have not "suddenly been ****" since last year sometime. joe cole just fits in all too well with that.

There's still too many players there, who have proven themselves good players, ALL suddenly playing ****.

I think it's clear where the problem is.

This exchange came from the the "Ordinary Joe" thread

He's still trying his best and putting in the effort to make things work, but there's a downbeat mood in the camp which he's feeling as much as anyone. Apparently it's "not much fun" and players arent enjoying their football.

                                Hodgson's days are numbered.

                                And now we have Hodge:

"“In the conversation with Joe, and I hope he remembers this, I made it clear that while he was a free transfer with a lot of clubs interested in him and I played my part in persuading him it was a good move, I couldn’t promise him a certain position. "
