    Ok, try not to laugh.....

Fabio Aurelio has resolved to make 2011 an injury-free year

The Brazilian full-back has been restricted to just four starts for Roy Hodgson's men after enduring a series of injuries since re-signing for the club back in the summer.

However, he remains confident he has now shrugged off his recent problems and is aiming to play a more prominent role in the coming weeks.

Aurelio told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Looking at the past, staying injury-free could be a good target for me. But in the last few months I've grown stronger and I'm playing more minutes, so maybe I can have other targets too.

"I feel good and want to play more minutes and games. My confidence is improving as well as my match fitness, so maybe that's my target in the New Year."

He added: "It would be easy to give up, especially with all the problems I've been having. Now I feel I'm starting again. I signed the new contract in the summer and it is like starting again. I'm hoping this new phase at Liverpool can be better than the last one."

The Reds now head into a period of the season were fixtures come thick and fast.

Aurelio believes the flurry of matches will mean Hodgson has to make full use of his squad, providing the fringe players with an opportunity to stake a claim for a regular berth.

"We have a lot of games to come because people like me are looking for opportunities and maybe this is the time of year to get it," he said.

"It's difficult for all the players to be involved in all of the games. Hopefully I can be involved and the team can get the points to push on. We have three or four games in 10 days more or less, so if we get the results we can start the New Year in a much better situation."

With Konchesky (bizarrely) ahead of him in the pecking order it might just come true.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Probably dislocated his mouth spouting all that...........ridiculous re-signing. As much as I like Fabio, he was a panic signing as backup.
Roy's made it perfectly clear who first XI LB.

Fingers crossed. If (big if) he can stay intact for more than 10 minutes he is at least seventeen times the player PFK is.

Knowing Fabio though he'll probably pull his hamstring carving the christmas turkey.

This cold weather must be about to bring his hamstrings to a juddering halt any moment.

By **** will he be injury free for any considerable length of time. Fabio would injure himself somehow in a padded cell.

Injured or not, he's still a better LB than we have. Actually, fit, he's a cracking player who can fill left and centre mid too. Love him loads, cracking player WHEN fit.
                        Really?

seriously he should be first choice left back

He's a better left back than Konchesky even when he's not fit.
