    Remember when God re-signed

And he said that he signed the contract without even reading the terms do you think if Rafa said to NESV I'll come back and manage Liverpool for nothing or for a ridiculously low salary with big bonuses dependent on winning trophies and finishing in the top 4 it would make him more employable to them??

They seem very driven on a cost and return model and with Rafa being paid off twice in 6 months he doesn't need the money. It reinforces his commitment to LFC and if things didn't work out it wouldn't cost NESV anythingbto partmcompany with him.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

This actually crossed my mind. If he wants us back get his agent to ring JH and tell him 18 months for nothing.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

You are not comparing Rafa to Fowler are you?

Rafa actually walked out, he was not actually sacked. Why would he come back? HE saw what a mess the team was, knew Mash was off too, and realised there was nothing to hang around for.

Nothing has actually changed, has it?

Fowler's second stint wasn't exactly a ringing success.

Rafa walked out did he? Club paid him off, to the tune of millions, out of the goodness of their hearts?

Depends on your expectations at the time.
He actually over achieved based on what I thought we would get from him

Rafa walked? One of the most retarded posts I've seen on here.

BTW Fowlers 2nd stint was hardly unsuccessful, gave the dressingroom a lift and netted a few. Anyone who expected more are delusional

SO why didnt Rafa stay, if he loves the club that much?

He could see how poor the team was, and it was only going to get worse without Mascherano.

                          Mutual consent... Whatever.

HE took a team finishing 4 ponts off the top, to a seventh place finish. HE lost Alonso and Arbelo and spent the money very poorly, and ended up with a team that couldnt play for **** and who were clearly unhappy.

I imagine things will still be quite tight, and Rafa wont have full control of transfers, so why would he want to come back, and why with the godawful crap we were subjected to last season does he deserve to? Hodgeson is rubbish, but he is playing with Rafas legacy.

I think we need to look for a manager who can motivate the players we have got, and bring a bit of joy back in to our foorball.

Some would say Rafa was consistently at his most successful when he wasnt in charge of transfers at Valencia. Others can argue he wasnt in charge of transfers in the last couple of seasons here, especially after what we hear about Purslow. I think most are making the assumption that he was fighting a losing battle during his last season and a half with MD's and Chairmen.

If he was given the chance to talk and a deal similar to the one above was discussed then I think he would consider it, but there would have to be certain terms and the timing has to be right for Rafa. He also has to stop getting involved in the politics of the club as he has done at Valencia, Inter and us.

He is a good tactician and has proved with top class players he can fight with the best of them, and I dont think you'll find a manager in England with the passion for the club that he has. It doesnt mean he's the best for the job now but it means that his efforts should be appreciated.
