I agree with Bulld0g - I've said the same myself.

They are putting a lot of pressure on themselves to appoint a suitable replacement but I suppose that's always going to be an important decision whatever happens in the meantime.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Tomkins said he never tweeted that Purslow still has an influence on nesv.

      Tomkins

@JP49er80 Nope, never said that. Unlikely they'd still be listening to CP after mess he caused.

I am very dissapointed in their lack of action. Its roundly accepted before last night that 95% + of the fans want Hodgson gone. Its clear (and has been from day 1) that he isnt good enough and its also clear to me that pretty much anyone could get more out of our players.

Whatever the pundits say we are still Liverpool Fc and we would attract a decent replacement almost straight away.

I think their lack of action is very very worrying.

They need to show winning ambition and they need to show it now or else they will risk losing the supporters.

We will never be happy to be involved in a relegation fight and that is what we are. Forget about top four. This season is all about to survive in the PL.

They said that they are here to win. They must sack Roy now or else it is just talk talk talk.

Keep Roy and we will guaranteed lose our best players and then we are really ****ed.

Time to show strength, time to show it now. If they don't sack Roy now then it only show that they don't care at all if our best players stay or not.

Then they show that they put Roy before them. Then they show a big weakness.

Why do you find it 'worrying'? It's incredibly frustrating for sure but I don't see why it's a cause for concern about the owners themselves. What do you think it says about them or their intentions?

I think they should be trying to get a caretaker in to finish the season, ok the season is a write off, but Roy is damaging the club long term, damaging the support ( I mean some supporters are wishing us to lose FFS) and damaging the image of the club. Get someone in short term and announce that to the fans that someone will be coming in the summer to take the club forward for the long term. We are three points from relegation FFS, half way through the season.

Do you not find it worrying that NESV said they would listen to fans time after time?

Do you not find it worrying that 98/99% of fans want Hodgson gone, not knee jerk, simply because he is an embarrasment in both footballing and off the field terms yet NESV have not acted?

Do you not find it worrying that currently the facts point to NESV are accepting the lies that point to Rafa leaving us in a mess?

Do you not find it worrying that NESV could give the whole club, fans and probably 95% of the playing squad a huge boost by sacking him yet they wont?

Do you no find it worrying that our last manager was sacked for a far better on the field performance in clearly his worst season yet NESV seem to be contect with Hodgson?

Do you not find it worrying that the longer the old fraud is manager the club is sliding slowly deeper and deeper away from where we want to be therfore making the loss of better players more lilkely, NESV seem not to be able to see this?

So yes, all in all, I am very worried by their apprant lack of action. Now of course they could sack him this afternoon and I can have a great New Years Eve.

I don't think they are content, they probably think they can manage until the summer but the reality is that we can't manage until then, we'll be sucked in relegation battle.

Fine but who? There is no-one around who is not a risk. And I think we already have a caretaker in charge, but with the added advantage of not officially being one.

Having said that I think last night's performance and result changes the balance of the argument somewhat. I'm less concerned about the potential negative impact of a caretaker than I was before last night.

All of that doesn't make me worry about the owners, just because they're not making the same decision many of us would.

Sure, it would make us feel better. But then we'd all feel worried about the caretaker and whether or not he'd be able to turn things around.

I find it frustrating he's still in charge. But I don't think it's a cause for concern about the owners.

You know who is available. Give him a six month deal and then a three year one in the summer if he is doing a good job.

No I know they didnt, but currently they dont have one, they have a team with 3 points more than the relegation places.

I think, to be perfectly honest, that anyone could do a better job than Roy Hodgson with this team.

                              1. Anyone can see we need to play higher up the pitch.
                              2. Anyone can see we need to play our better players, eg Aurelio.
                              3. A LFC connected person, I dont know, Thompson maybe even Aldrige until the summer would boost everything and show us all NESV are listening.

I havent jumped on criticising NESV until now, but, a few weeks ago they went on a live phone in and we told pretty bluntly what fans think and also commented themselves that its not good enough. We get another hurrendous result, outplayed, outchanced and outfought by the bottom team and up to now, no action from them. That is why I am worried. I am worried they are not aware of the damage the old ****ing fraud is doing to the players, the club and maybe more importantly the fans.

We aren't privy to how it would go down. It could be explosive.

I like Rafa as a manager almost as much you do but he comes with a serious potential downside.

OK, well I can see that would be worrying but I don't share your fear they're unaware of it. I think their willingness to field the fans calls the other day, plus the clear instruction not to filter out negative calls, suggests they're only too well aware of it.

I think we can view their inaction to date in two ways:
                                1. They don't know or they don't care what the fans think. They're happy enough with Hodgson for the time being because experts in the media and perhaps within the club have told them he's a safe pair of hands, inherited a club in need of total rebuilding and don't worry too much so long as the team remains in the Premier League, with all the riches that brings them.
                                2. They are well aware of our views and have a long-term plan in mind, believing sacking Hodgson now might cause more problems than it would solve.

Obviously the reality is probably a little more complex but I think we can boil it down to these two mutually exclusive options for the sake of discussion here.

I think we'd all agree that as we lurch nearer to the relegation zone then the need for action becomes more urgent. It seems to me that the issue is at what point have we reached a crisis point where a change of manager is essential, whatever the risk.
                                .
