    Relegation - A real prospect?

We are slowly getting sucked into the relegaton zone, only 3 points above Fulham. Last night showed any team can come to Anfield and outplay us, we simply cannot handle teams that have a go. We don't have the balls for a relegation dogfight and we certainly don't have the manager. I hope the owners understand this, its easy to sucked in but will be very difficult to get out, something we must avoid at all cost.

    What are your thoughts?

Potentially if every team that comes to Anfield plays the same sort of tactics as Wolves.

With Larry Burns in charge we have more chance of winning the championship next season that getting in the top 4.

On current form it's possible, 4 defeats in 6 games is certainly relegation form. I believe that we should have the quality to pick up enough points to stay up, inspite of Hodgson's tactics.

8 defeat out of 18 is shocking, Hodgson should have gone by now!

Only Aston Villa and Wolves (with 4 points) have picked up less points away from home than our 5pts.

While the grossly incompetent **** is in charge, we are odds on to be relegated. This is the true consequence of having him at the helm.

Exactly - we can't rely on our away form ()

And if every team comes to Anfield and press us we'll lose more than we win.

We're in the **** big time with the idiot in charge.

Of course its a real prospect, we have the worst manager in England.

If teams suss us at Anfield and start playing like Wolves and Blackpool rather than not even trying like Villa and West Ham we are completely ****ed. No one should underestimate just how bad a manager this man is. I dont think we will go down as theres still many spineless teams in this league who will give up at Anfield before a ball is kicked but if they dont.....

If we do as well in the second half of the season as we have in the first we're on course for 46 points, which should be enough to keep us up

The problem we face now is everyone will fancy their chances against us now and the bad thing is, they will have a good chance of winning

So far this season we have not looked notably better than the teams who are down there. We haven't been quite as abject as West Ham at their worst but other than that we have looked as bad as anyone.

If we keep Roy we have to buy the sort of players that work in his formation. the problem being they are unlikely to be part of any sensible foundation for a future push for the league. I'm now fully convinced we have to sack him now, we can no longer afford to wait until the summer or we will genuinely risk a relegation dog fight or prolonged lack of success.

absolutely, anyone we bring in under Roy will be to prop up what we've currently got with his type of hoof ball tactics - Carlton Cole for instance.

I am sure he'll not be here in the summer but we really need action now to ensure whoever does come in has time to work with the current crop of players, properly assess what is needed and also to instill some much needed confidence by playing players in their correct positions and using the tactics that best suit what we have available.

It's not rocket surgery but Roy is clearly incapable of taking any of this on board, if he continues in his role then we could and will be dragged into a fight at the bottom and I am not sure we've the fight to deal with this

We are definitely in trouble if he somehow keeps his job.

We'll lose far more away games than not, and now we can't even rely on home form. I knew he was bad but even I am amazed at just how bad Hodgson is.

I think we could get away with it if it was just Carlton Cole to be honest - a target man is a useful option and if we keep his wages sensible we would probably be able to sell him on. What I worry about is that really Roy requires two defensively sound inside out wingers (more used to playing deep than Kuyt and stronger than Maxi) and a more restrained RB. All of whom are likely to be cloggers who we would have wasting space in teh squad for a while.

Cole was just an example off the top of my head but for a guy with 50 career goals at 27 and only scored 2 goals in a premiership game once (this season) no thanks.

You're right though it'd be 3 or 4 players who will be well versed in hoofball, come in on expensive long contracts and offer nothing to whoever comes in
