We are embarrassing but relegation is not a real prospect for us.

Anyone who is three points from the relegation zone and doesn't consider themselves as threatened by being drawn into that fight is deluding themselves. So often you hear players from other sides talking about the pressures being in the bottom three exert and our players have little experience with dealing with it. Does Roy seem the sort to rally the troops in hard times? If we are unlucky with a couple of results it could start to look like a real possibility.

Obviously the converse is also true a burst of form and it will be a pretty distant memory. We are more than capable of that (even with Roy in charge). It needs to happen now though.

If we lose to Bolton .....

Let's not forget that Bolton have a point to prove after earlier in the season, they'll be right up for this one.

We are probably one really bad result away from a slump in form that could doom us. Normally we might be at a stage where we might think that someone is due a kicking from us (althought there's no evidence fot=r this at the moment) but in this case i think it's quite clear that someone is going to trounce us soon - and it could be at home - and after that, assuming Roy stays on, we could be totally ****ed.

Edit: any sort of loss to Bolton would be the equivalent disaster

Realistically we will stumble to a low top half finish.

No matter how inept Roy might be, the quality is there somewhere that will see us far from danger.

There will always be three worse teams in this league..

Some people are getting a bit carried away with all this owner issue and relegation crap..
plenty of teams have said the same thing and they went down

We've been **** at home against physical teams that press us for years, it's nothing new. We believe we are better than we actually are, that needs to be addressed before we can truly start to improve.

That said. The difference in the past was that we would pepper the opponents goal and they would strike with a set piece or lucky counter attack, now we are the poorer team throughout the game and look like losing. We didn't look frustrated last night, we looked totally at odds. Relegation is a possibility, and I'll be burning the old cunt's house down if we are

A slump in form? We've lost 3 of the last 4 PL games and in the last 7 we've won 2, drawn 1 and lost the rest. That is relegation for already 7 points from 21 The slump is already here, unless you think it can get worse?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I hope the owners understand this, its easy to sucked in but will be very difficult to get out, something we must avoid at all cost.

                      What are your thoughts?

yes, i genuinely believe that relegation is a possibility.

Under Roy the team could well get relegated and we could be playing the likes of cardiff and leeds next season. Under rafa benitez we used to think finishing outside the top 4 was like being relegated.

Yeah though - it can get worse. Beaten regularly away and beaten sometimes and drawing regularly at home with the odd hammering here and there to destroy and hope our goal difference might give us of staying up. Doesn't seem far-fetched at all

                            I think we'll finish 9th.

For some reason I read that as 93rd.
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
