I get the impression he really, really hates us now. He probably has the same opinion on Scousers as PFK's mum.

Aye I'm certain he doesn't like us and if he gets the bullet things could get very messy. He really ought to experiment with dignity and, as he always calls it, keep his powder dry, but I don't think he'll be able to resist having a pop, trying to maintain his 'reputation' with a series of excuses and apportioning blame elsewhere.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostI get the impression he really, really hates us now. I have to say that although Roy has emphatically failed at the task set him when he came in to Liverpool, I think the poor guy was always on a hiding to nothing with the weak squad he inherited and the fact that he clearly was not up to the job.
I hope the new owners really look at what has happened to Roy and try to avoid throwing someone else into the same mess which could just as easily destroy them.
I hear fans talking about villa boas, owen Coyle but Liverpool need a mamanger with more expereince at a higher level that can ride the initial few months and that has some personality to get him through the tough times.
Rafa understood this and often hid his own failing behind his rapour with the fans. Every single interview he mentioned the special fans.
Roy didnt have the charisma to carry this off unfortunately for him (fortunately for LFC;-)) and it will not be difficult to move him on.
I genuinely feel sorry for Roy as he is a good guy, genuine and honest and he has endured a horrendous six months because Dalglish didnt get the job and because he didnt inspire hope with the majority of Liverpool fans.
I for one was gutted when he was named, but was prepared to give him a chance however my charity ran out pretty quickly, around October with a series of poor results. I suggested at that time he should be given 5 games to score 10 points. It was a disaster and he should have been fired over month ago.
I am guessing that the owners have no doubt that Roy should leave, but maybe just maybe they are awaiting a CEO to perform the act.
Good luck for the future RoyJacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I certainly feel no sympathy for Roy.
If he was on a hiding to nothing he certainly knew it before he took the job.
The state of the club was public knowledge by that point.
He's failed, so he should leave.

I think the squad is too weak now to meet our lofty expectations. But only because Roy ruined it. What he should have done:
Given Mascherano a price and deadline to leave by.
With that money, bought a good holding midfield player to replace him with, someone like Lassana Diarra who was and still is available for around the £10m mark.
Kept Aquilani. Or sold him for enough money to but Meireles.
Kept Insua. Let Aurelio go. Signed a decent LB. even Nicky Shorey at 500k was a better idea than Konk for £5m and two youngsters.
Signed a striker.
All of the above was obvious.Forwards.......

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I do feel quite sorry for him. I do think that in general he is a nice guy. He just doesn't edit himself well and tends to talk more when under pressure. I think more than any group of people I know the Liverpool fanbase look to interpret every utterance made by people and he has suffered from that more than most.
I don't think he is right for the job but I don't really think he deserves the personal abuse he is getting at times.Last edited by dww; 31-12-10, 01:47 PM."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
