Thanjk you.

I'm saying that's what he'll be remebered for. You seem to think that he is on a power trip and sacked Rafa for the sheer hell of it. I'm saying he had the best interests of the club at heart, but got some big decisions wrong.
I don't see why he should be dragged through the dirt just because he got things wrong. It seemed obvious to me that Rafa should only walk if we got someone of his level in.
But I think you'll find that countless LFC fans were only to happy to have Rafa removed at any cost - funnily enough, in exactly the way I feel about Roy now. Me personally, I could never see why people hated Rafa so much, but they did.
Should Purslow be put to the sword because he wasn't a fan of Rafa?
I don't think he should.
I think Purslow should just **** off. Thanks for sorting out NESV, thanks Broughton especially (I'm sure someone who's just been knighted and has vast experience and respect throughout the business-world and within politics might put a bit more weight into a bid than Purslow). He got Roy in, he seemed to pal up to Stevie and Carra and got it badly wrong and - if Rafa is to be believed - got rid of certain players and made sure others (namely Carra) had the chance to sign a 90 grand a week contract when he was in decline, which has also been noted duly by NESV.
He might be a fan, but he's still part of the board, whichever way you want to spin it. He seems present, and a mere presence and being pally and all that ****e just continues to be an influence that should not be discarded. It's not like he's on the Kop with the fans, is it? He's got access and people will be talking to him and he'll be talking to people and whether that's a good or a bad thing, I don't know, but it doesn't seem a good thing to me. He was a facilitator in the take-over and it should have stayed at that.
One thing's certain, lots of **** went down behind the scenes and I wouldn't discount what Rafa had to say about it, regardless of the fact that he might 'have sour grapes' (which I personally think is a load of ****ing bollocks). He lived and breathed the club and us as fans, so much so, that his wife and scouse-speaking children moved back and wanted him to join them back in the city - for someone from a warm country such as Spain, quite a feat. I'd trust Rafa over a business-type any day of the ****ing week. Any day. His way with all of us fans and how he stood up for us fans is enough evidence in my eyes. Holy trinity: Fans, players, manager. Chairman - sign here. I'm sure Montse made sure at the very start, when she was reading all those books about our great history, to let Rafa know about that - which is probably why he worked the way he worked and eventually ended up in oblivion. Sadly.
At the end of the day, many things went on behind the scenes, and the grass isn't always greener on the other side (with regards to removing Rafa and what-not), ****it, nothing to be done about it now. But every cunt with regards to the whole debacle bar the owners who bought us should **** right off back to Babylon, Purslow, Roy, the whole ****ing lot.
We will be involved in a relegation battle this season then
Our away form decrees that , coupled with the home defeats against Wolves and Blackpool
Strap yourselves in
I'm hoping he's gone before then, but league wise I'm looking at next season now. I don't think we'll go down. I'm sure you don't either. If you do you may as well have a bet at the bookies and make a fortune.

why is you are always going on about rewriting history or airbrushing?
to say he has done some good and some bad isnt rewriting history. it is taking a balanced view. Now it is possible that on balance he has harmed the club or on balance he has done the right thing. I am not sure which it is. Right now it because of Roy it looks bad but if he hadnt done what he did with the ownership we may have gone in administration so its a bit more complicated than your hatred of him so therefore he is to blame for everything view.
he is to blame for Roy though according to rumours it wasnt just him.

I'm not saying Purslow was right. He was wrong. I'm saying he did things with the best intentions, yet people in SOS seem to want him strung up and beaten. More than likely to him giving them short shrift. Again, he was wrong in doing that, but it doesn't make him a ******. Just makes him a fool at worst.
For all his bad decisions, he may (along with others) have got the most important one right. We'll find out in due course.
Dom, Purslow's remit wasn't to sell the club, he was Managing Director. Selling the club was Broughton's remit, which he managed to bring to a successful outcome. Purslow's legacy is all the mess which he's left behind and which we're reaping the dividends right now.

Don't disagree with that, and I don't side with SOS, just for the record. Don't think the way they've portrayed themselves and acted on 'behalf of supporters' does everyone justice.
I'm just saying that I don't like Purslow sticking around and the first time I had heard it, I didn't feel easy about it.

It isn't hatred Marsh
Its looking at the state we're in and adressing how we've come to it
Firing Rafa and getting in Roy ( 2 big crosses )
Voting to sell the club ( a big tick there ) however , remember he was also still looking for part owners/investment to prop G&H up until Broughton came in ( thank goodness , he never found any )

They're like Death Of A Salesman crossed with The ****in Incredibles
The Incredibles is one of my favourite Pixar type films. Is taht in this thread?

This is the currency we're dealing in
Did I miss anything ?
i find it strange that you post about him more than the club.
so i take it that Gerrard and Carra have the two big crosses and not the big tick then?
he did find investors, if you dont hate him next time your on look at the amount of posts you have about him and the tone.

Purslows remit was to find investment. He found it, but G+H didn't want it. We all know now it was always G+H intention to drag their feet and just used people to pretend they were looking for investment/ a sale.
I've read enough papers, heard enough TV interviews and enough bits on the internet to come to my own conclusion taht Purslow and Ayre had big roles to play in the final outcome. Of course, Broughton had the biggest role as that was what he was brought in for, Purslow second largest and finally Ayre. Not forgetting a brilliant supporting cast including QC Grabbiner.
If you want to have another opinion you're entitled to it.
