The point is, if Kenny had been given the job in the summer, we wouldnt HAVE Konchesky or Poulsen.

As for not being good enough - that's largely based on judgement during Hodgson's tenure, which i would advise against.

No, we wouldn't have had those, but in a way I'm glad KK wasn't in charge during all the **** with H&G.

At the moment, we've probably got the 6th best squad in the league, so I think we should be finishing in the top six. I'm not saying that our league position correctly reflects where we should be.

Roy ****ed up, but us and Spurs (at the moment) are in the second tier compared to the top 4 of United, City, Arsenal, & Chelsea.

That is correct, but teams don't always finish where they should, as we didn't last season.

Teams under perform as they have this season and teams also play above their level and achieve something of what is normally considered above them. If everything was as it should be we'd all make a fortune at the bookies.

If Kenny had given us a confidence boost and signed good players as opposed to ****e like roy did, then you never know. Actually, we probably will know when we see how Liverpool do in the second half of the season.

well our next 10 league games are:

Blackpool (a)
Everton (h)
Wolves (a)
Fulham (h)
Stoke (h)
Chelsea (a)
Wigan (h)
West Ham (a)
Webb FC (h)
Sunderland (a)

if we can win 8 of those, then to be honest i expect us to be right in the mix.......

also, we are out of the fa cup........and the eurodisney cup won't take as much out of us as the CL will from spurs.......

It is a huge ask - tha gimp Roy should have got us at least another 10 points but then he wouldn't have got sacked!!! Catch 22......

I don't think we will make 4th.....however, if we storm up the table and build consistancy, then you never know......

Personally, i'd be happy if we made progress on the pitch, got some form going.......then next season mount a proper title challenge...... NESV are in this for the long haul, if we sign a few decent players, then under the right management, i reckon we can become challengers next season.......

and i hope that kenny works out and he gets the job full time......he would re-instate the boot room culture.......and groom a sucessor to take over long term (possibly carra)

That's true, but mostly in the positions between 6th & 20th. I'm just saying to break into the top 3 is an impossible task considering the squad we have, regardless of the manager. The year we finished 2nd, I think we overachieved and lost possibly the best passer of my generation in Alonso.

Bringing in KK in now should give us a new lease of life, I don't think the same would have happened during the summer with H&G still at the club.

We have absolutely no chance -we're already well off the pace, our squad is weaker than other teams fighting for this spot, and even under Kenny I can see it taking some time before we start to find some consistency and play in the manner he would like us to.

As for the Blackpool game - Cole should definitely start if he is fit. Does anyone know what was wrong with him today? I'd like to see Pacheco involved in the squad aswell.

Whilst the Everton team is more suited to Derby games, I think with it being the first home game for us it could be enough to take us over the line.

At least I am now of the opinion that we have a chance in every game. That is at leat an improvement.

We looked by far the better team at OT today until Gerrards sending off. I think if Stevie had kept his cool we'd have beaten them. Shame Kelly didn't pass to Meireles when he put the ball across goal for Torres, could have been 1-1 there at eleven a side and anything would have been possible.
