Team to start vs Blackpool unless Suarez deal is completed tomorrow, which I hear is 50/ 50.

          I'd go for:

          ------------- Reina ---------------

          Kelly ----- Skrtel ---- Agger --- Aurelio

          Johnson ---- Lucas --- Meireles ---- Cole(if fit)

          ---------- Babel -------- Torres

That should be enough to beat Blackpool
I'd be pleased to see that side vs Blackpool. But Babel and Ngog did well the last time they played together so that partnership wouldn't disappoint me TBH

Does Suarez play slightly withdrawn off the main striker?

Well depending on how Johnson did on the right I don't think I would rush putting Cole there, I would obviously put Gerrard back in the hole in place of Cole. Maybe put Cole on the left but again would depend on how Babel did there.

Trouble is we are on 25 points after 20 games. To guarantee 4th we'd likely have to double the points gained in the second half of the season, turning 25 points gained from 20 games too 50 points gained from 18 games would be nigh on impossible.

Maybe 70 points would be enough though, in which case we'd need to add another 45 points - still ridiculously tough going. If we are VERY lucky then maybe 65 points would sneak us in there, in which case it would be 40 points from 18 games.

Either way you look at it that is a very tough proposition. We'd likely have to have better form than whoever wins the league. To go from relegation candidates to the best team in the league would be some miracle.
When was the last time that happened though Danny?

                    The Liverpool rumours site.

The Suarez deal is going around like wildfire on there atm. I do think it is largely down to one of the "ITK's" saying Suarez is wanted by LFC though, as opposed to other people having information. Think others are just jumping on the badwagon and taking wild guesses at the date he'll come in.

The guy who said it goes by the name "Macca" and is usually spot on with the info. He doesn't say we ARE signing him though, just that we WANT to sign him.

It is said elsewhere that Ajax have to sell, Jol quit because Suarez was being hawked around everywhere. I read elsewhere today that BOTH LFC and Spurs are interested. Suarez favours LFC, but depends if we'll meet Ajaxs demands, rumoured to be about £20m.
                    Forwards.......

We have new owners, no one knows what they will do or are capable of. We can but hope

Is Macca the guy who said it was 50/50 or was that someone else?

Suarez can play anywhere in the front 4 positions of a 4231.

He'd probably be the best fit of all top name players out there tbh due to that bit of versatality. Not sure he'd offer much defensive protection if put out wide though, so would probably be best suited up top when Torres is out, or just behind him when both are available.

Macca said we want him. But he hasn't said it has been confimred, or that a medical is around the corner. He said he was on the radar quite a while a go, before I saw it in the press.

He then said after Dalglish got the job that Suarez was now a player high on the list and that we now WANTED him, as opposed to just thinking about him.

On a side note, he gets information from different people and doesn't say how reliable this person is. Another person told him Ian Rush would be brought onto the coaching staff.

Don't think he's said anything else.

                                I think we'll tonk Blackpool:

                                1. The defeat today would have encouraged everyone. The manner of it being taken away from them will fuel a sense of injustice.

                                2. Revenge for the defeat at Anfield. A backlash.

                                3. Draw a line under the season. Kenny will have a couple of days to prepare them.

                                4. Pride.

                                5. They are not playing for Hodgson.

                                6. They are playing for Kenny.
                                Oh I don't know.
