    The view from Blackpool....

Jack Gaughan from Blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk provides the view from Bloomfield Road ahead of tonight's clash.

You stunned Anfield back in October - how's your season gone since?

It's gone incredibly well - there really is nothing to complain about and the run we've been on has been unreal. Ollie has stuck with the superb brand of football (which, for me, is one of the best to watch in the whole division) and we've hit teams head on. It's been breathtaking. Our attacking 4-5-1 formation baffled teams last year but he's coached the players to become more astute with their running off the ball and retaining of possession this term. The way our team plays we are always going to be short at the back (especially when playing at home) but the method is that we'll go and score more than the opposition. So in essence you have to ride your luck if the attacking ethos is to be upheld, and likewise for Liverpool - our best chance of coming out on top is by attacking.

Your thoughts on meeting us this time around?

Without wanting to sound arrogant, we weren't scared of Liverpool in October and certainly won't be now. Call us naive, but it's working thus far! However, when you give the likes of Kuyt and Torres the opportunity to find pockets of space, you will get punished.

Who else do you rate on our side?

Obviously there's quality all over the park. Looking specifically at our game, I think the players with pace are going to be the ones who influence the game the most. Whilst the likes of Joe Cole and Meireles are brilliant on the ball, players like Glen Johnson from right back and Ryan Babel are the ones who could really hurt us on the break.

What about you? Who's shining so far this season?

Luke Varney and David Vaughan have been my stand-outs so far. Varney gives an out ball when we're under pressure, especially away from home, and has the quality to not only chip in with goals but to build attacks and keep possession when needed. As for Vaughan, the midfielder is an absolute star - a tenacious tackler, he reads the game with ease and has an eye for defence-splitting passes. You can't not mention the impact Elliot Grandin and DJ Campbell have too. Both have excellent movement off the ball and can drag defenders everywhere.

    Any weaknesses we can exploit?

The full-backs are vulnerable when up against tricky wingers, because they have no back-up in front of them. We're fairly weak at set pieces too.

What can we expect from the home fans?

Travelling fans always compliment the home crowd and in fairness it's always loud, no matter who the team is playing. But with it being Liverpool, I'd expect the atmosphere to be even better than normal. Because our football has been so good in the past year, there is an element of expecting a performance but that comes with watching a successful team like Liverpool.

Any advice for travelling Reds fans?

Get down early, have a good walk down the prom with some fish and chips and then head to the Old Bridge Inn on Lytham Road (two minutes' walk from the ground) - it's always good for a pint.

    Score prediction?

I'm normally terribly at predictions. I'll go with 1-1!

Cole or Kuyt behind Torres for me, and Maxi is out best option on left, like to see Johnson on the right of midfield too. Have to say i'm actually very nervous abou tthis game. Kenny's first league game and with our away record under Roy and current position, its actually and very important game. A must win IMO

Yeah true, i'm going for a narrow away win but i'm far from confident, i never am nowadays when we're playing, away from home especially.

It's all up to the players now, i honestly think some of them hid behind Roy and let him take all the blame - now they're playing for a LFC legend and someone's who will always be loved by the Liverpool fans. Hence they know they really have to start performing.

Gotta love KK more and more each passing day.. The Legend..

Liverpool FC boss Kenny Dalglish has insisted no player is bigger than the club as he heads to Blackpool on Wednesday night without suspended captain Steven Gerrard.

The England midfielder was sent off in Sunday’s FA Cup exit at Manchester United and is now serving a three-match ban which will also mean he misses this weekend’s Merseyside derby at home to Everton FC.

However, Dalglish has been quick to try to engender the close ’family’ atmosphere he enjoyed more than 20 years ago as player and manager at Anfield.

And that means not worrying about star names and concentrating on the team.

"Any team which has Steven Gerrard in it is going to be much better than one without it," said Dalglish, who takes charge of his first Barclays Premier League match since taking over from Roy Hodgson last Saturday.

"But we have to get on with it and the most important people for us are the ones which are available, not the ones who are unavailable because they can’t dictate the result of games.

"We will concentrate on the ones we do have, without being disrespectful to the ones who are not there."

Dalglish also stressed everyone was treated the same, which meant Fernando Torres would not get any special attention as they try to get their star striker scoring again.

The Spain international has scored just six times in 22 matches and only once in his last eight games this season.

"In the games I’ve been in charge he has been brilliant," joked Dalglish.

"It is strange when you talk about people of his calibre having a lack of confidence but at the same time he is still a top goalscorer and someone everyone fears when he goes on the pitch.

"We will do our best to get as much as we possibly can from Fernando, the same as we will do for every other player.

"This club has never been about one individual, it has been about a collection and a team and we are a team.

"It is up to us to try to help Fernando as much as we possibly can and also help each other."

Blackpool’s 2-1 victory at Anfield helped push Liverpool into the relegation zone back in October and contributed to the club’s worst start to a season since 1953/54.

Dalglish watched that game from the directors’ box. He admitted Liverpool were second-best that day and is keen to avoid a repeat at Bloomfield Road.

"They came here and deservedly won 2-1 but we are going to their place so it is all on us to get a result," he said.

"But we have total respect for them and what they have done and the fantastic start they have had.

"On the pitch they have been fantastic and a breath of fresh air.

"I think they deserve fantastic credit for the way they have gone about their job.

"We have to be up for it to make sure we don’t come away from Blackpool with the same result we had at Anfield - a defeat."

                    From the Beeb

"Blackpool have the worst home record in this season's Premier League."

I imagine Bodge would have had this pencilled in as a famous draw. Under Kenny, I'm sure we'll be having a real crack at them.

I imagine he’d have taken on the challenge and made sure he took that accolade off them before the end of the season.

                      So much unfinished business…
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Part of the reason they've got so few points at home, is because they've played far fewer home games than anyone else, due to their stadium not being ready back in August, and due to postponements to home games during the winter. Most clubs have played 10 or 11 home games. Blackpool have played just 7.

True, but they've still only won 2 of them.

Also, I know King Kenny is spouting quite a lot of often-used cliches, but all just sounds so right coming from him.
