Well he looks better than Lucas did when he came and he was 21 when he debuted for us.

Hard to judge yet but he doesn't look like he has instant star quality but doesn't hide and has great self confidence sure he will grow under Kenny's teachings !!

I don't think he'll make it either. He's a decent passer. But his lack of pace I feel will prevent him from being the next Gerrard. Having said that, he did much better than Meireles when he came on.

he will never be the gerrard type player because he just doesnt have the pace, agression and drive that gerrard did.

he should look to xabi alonso and try and model himself on xabi. learn to domiate games by being on the ball, pick the right pass at the right time, play 5 yard and 60 yard passes with ease.

but always look at the team first. gerrard doesnt always, xabi always did.

I think he's miles from being ready yet. Much like Pacheco, who's flattered a bit with not much end product.

I think he'll do well this lad, not overly worried about his pace. Besides I don't really think he's that slow.

From what I've seen of him he's composed and a decent passer, he's not afraid to get the boot in either to be fair.

Looking forward to seeing more of him in the future, it's only a matter of time before he smashes a shot in the top corner I reckon!!

He's shown a lot of promise in the appearances he's made so far.

To write him off as a bit **** is premature in the extreme, especially as in a lot of games he was shoved over to the right wing.

His lack of pace is a concern, but as others have said you don't need pace to be a classy midfield ball player.

He is a very very good young player. The biggest problem for him is that we compare his dynamism to Stevie G and the passing ability and vision to Alonso. Not many youngsters are going to pass that test.

I think he can develop into a very useful squad member for a top 3 team first and then push on from there developing his own identity. He has the potential to be a very very good premiership midfielder - a better and homegrown version of Gareth Barry or Carrick.

Agree with most of that. He's only 18 FFS so let's just see how he goes over the next 3 or 4 years. Still it's hard to make a judgement as he's barely played and when he has he's generally been out of position.
