Dalglish's Liverpool beat Man Utd in 1990

Just saw this on the beeb website:

Brings back some good memories, absolutely loved that team.
    We come not to play.

    Good find

The most striking thing about the video is the pace with which we played. Compare and contrast to what we've seen over the last several years.

I remember reading at the time that Les Sealey booted Beardo's hattrick ball out of the ground at the end of the game so he couldn't collect it. Course this is a recollection from the age of 10 so I may be a bit off.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Barnes - such a powerful and skillful player.
          McMahon - such a tenacious little tw*t
Beardsley - such a deliberate finisher
And Stevie Nicol - has no right to be in the penalty area trying an overhead kick!

          Gary Gillespie on Stevie Nicol

"Shanks always preached that we had eleven captains. He wanted to see players think things out and rectify things if they were going wrong. You never got shouted at for trying to change something out on the pitch. You were always taught to work things out for yourself. Mind you if you tried something stupid and it didn't come off we had a saying that we would 'hit you on the head with a big stick from the touchline'. I remember Steve Nicol getting a hat-trick once at Newcastle. Nobody told him where he had to go and what to do, he just worked it out himself. He got the match ball and I told him it was probably the only one he'd ever get ! but nobody told him off for joining in the attack."
          Really?

Yep, we got the ball forward with superb quickness. At times, it almost looks like the footage is on 'fast forward'

              Superb tempo

Stevie Nicol - legend. I remember that hat-trick, 4-1 at St James, totally destroyed them.

Compare and contrast Kenny being interviewed yesterday where he can't stop smiling to this...heartbreaking, he looked like a shell of a man. No wonder he's so happy to be back.

If I remember rightly, the lads that ended up with the ball were in the Echo a couple of days later. I can't remember if they gave it over to Beardo, though.

Either of you put your names in for the ballot for the final?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What final? - the final in "Who can convince Poulsen to come home"-contest?!?! (I'm Danish)

Don't know why I experience the same problems with territorial restrictions but I do...

                            I'm an idiot.

Nah, the first ballot for UEFA cup final tickets at the Aviva is open to people living in Ireland, just wondering if many people registered.

I figured that it was something about the last thing we have a chance of winning...
