Who is he talking about here? Current players?

Not sure SG and Carra are going to be too impressed that he's hinting at stuff he's been told in confidence.

Not sure Michael Owen is in any position to talk about others falling down the ladder.

Is he even going to play the necessary games to earn a medal if the scum spawn the title? Doubt it.

To be fair, he says our position is a consequence of the takeover and other off-field issues. Barnes said we should just except that we’re a top TEN side now as we haven’t been a big club for 20 years. It’s almost as if those first 4 years under Rafa didn’t happen at all for some people.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

to me he's saying that Stevie and Jamie haave basically said that Rafa stopped us passing and moving. And thats the reason for our decline.

Well that's the kind of mad assumptions that start most of the rumours about those two.

                              I hope that's true
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                                is it really mad tho:

                                -----------------

However, he remains close to Steven Gerrard - who was sent-off - and Jamie Carragher - who missed out through injury - and has strong opinions about life at his old club.

                                ...

'I don't think they would ever forgive me if I said what they had told me,' reflected Owen.

'Throughout all those successful years Liverpool built their foundation on passing and moving.

'But, from when I was there (Rafa's start), everything has changed, barring two players. They even got rid of the doctors and the medical staff.

                                ----------------------------

so why is it mad? He says he's still close to those two, that he has strong opinions (i.e. good sources) of whats gone one and life is like with us and that since he left. That everything had changed and thats why we're mid-table.

To me that says Stevie and Carra grumbling to Owen about the Rafalution. That Rafa was trying to do it his own way from top to bottom whilst they wanted him to fit into the houllier's setup/structure etc.
