Macia and 5 other scouts leave LFC

Liverpool have parted company with 6 scouts, including former chief scout Eduardo Macia. Spaniard Macia left the club by mutual consent last week.

New director of football strategy Damien Comolli (pictured) has made the decision to terminate the contracts of five other scouts, most of whom were appointed under Rafa Benitez.

One of the scouts leaving is Jakob Friis-Hansen, the father of reserve keeper Martin Hansen. He told Danish press:

“Virtually everyone who has been employed under Benitez, has now finished at the club. This is also a couple of Spanish coaches. It is very natural that it happens when a new manager or sporting director to a club. We did never actually meet Comolli, but he has some other ideas, and it is basically fair enough. I’ve got a nice severance scheme and am free to start a new job.”

This is a real shame in my view. I truly feel he's still the man to get us back to where we belong and that last season was only a blip. If it's true that Carra and Gerrard were involved in his demise then that's quite sad to be fair.

Looks like he's never coming back though and it would be interesting to see if he and his family stay in the area long term.

Roy Hodgson will never manage our club again. Is that the exception that proves the rule?
