Until the second goal i thought we were in control and looked the more likely to get a second, once they got it though our heads went down.

Positives were that we looked more offensive for the most part and passed it better albeit in patches. Torres was much better today also.

Negatives, Johnson cannot be allowed to play full back he simply isnt one, caught out at the back post yet again and hes been guilty of leaving his man like that all ****ing season. Free headers 6 yards out are totally unacceptable.
The whole back four needs sorting out as we looked at all at sea whenever they run at us, Carragher is being badly missed.

Rome wasnt built in a day and all that bollox, Kennys had 5 days and i think its shown in his 2 games that he'll make us better, as for tonight if anyone thought we would hammer Blackpool is unrealistic, they are a good side and play some great football.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking.

Torres played like a champion, unbelievable. Unfortunately, he needs better service. 'Had that volley gone in', he's definitely getting there. Reina much improved, doing very well. That's about it.

I think what's important now is to get rid of sub-standard first team players, 2-3 new ones needed, just some who can pass the ****ing ball, can cross and want to play for the shirt. S'bout it.

We definitely need some fresh blood in the Jan window, otherwise the lot we have might not get any sort of confidence and that would be that. ****ed.
      Lets be honest...we didn't really

I thought we were energetic and much much better in the 2nd half, up until their goal which imo had a foul on Skrtel in the build-up. We were all over them for a good 10/15 mins away from home, which we've not even looked close to doing under Roy

One step at a time. Lots of positives for me
were you watching the same game? and we were not good at all. We kept giving the ball away Mereiles especially and didn't threaten them after we scored. If there was a 50 50 ball didn't chase after it - blackpool did!! . I know kenny wants to see all the players we have but jovanovich and poulsen??? Unless of course we had no choice but to play them but we did Ngog would have been better or maxi . If we play like that on sunday the bitters will batter us.
You never know, football is football. It could be in five years' time, ten years' time, two years' time. We have two years of a contract here, we are really pleased here, the people are very nice, the fans are very similar to Liverpool fans, with passion, so everything is going well."

But Liverpool is home? "Yeah-it's the only house we have. Liverpool is my home and I will come back."

Did you miss the bit where I said poor team selection and poor use of subs?

The players do look unfit, you can take that as blaming Hodgson like a child or see that its actually true.

          Grow up.

Reality Check for us. Played off the park by Blackpool, who completely deserved to win. I love Kenny but his managerial decisions today were terrible. Line up was awful, negative, slow and zero creativity & he also showed a complete lack of urgency with the subs, shocked when i seen Shelvey coming on. One eye on the derby maybe?

Blackpool gave us a lesson in how to pass and move, how embarrassing is it to say that? How on earth Jovo,Meireles & Poulsen were allowed to stay on for so long is beyond me, Kuyt also. I've said it before and i'll say it again Meireles is not cut out for the Premier League, shocking passer and an absolute windbag.

Disappointed in kenny tonight, their keeper might aswell of went off for a cup of tea, that was just as bad as most of the away performances under good old Roy. I thought Torres was excellent, worked his bollox off, Reina kept us in the game and Lucas & Kelly had good first halfs.

Glen Johnson,Skrtel & Kuyt shouldn't be in the first team IMO, i'd actually be inclined to sell Johnson, massive flop if good offer came in for Kuyt & Skrtel sell them as well IMO. Jovo & Poulsen should be offloaded asap. Back to earth with a bang, Kenny has his work cut out for him but didn't do himself any favours tonight, if that performance happened under Roy we would be ripping him to shreds.

This was a massive game tonight, and we blew it manager and players, absolutely dreading the derby.

P.S. All the people slagging off Charlie Adam must be feeling bit silly, magnificent performance from him yet again, stand out in every single game for Blackpool.

Kuyt was so poor tonight. He's offered next to nothing all season. Zero pace, terrible passing, poor first touch. If we could get 7-8 million for this guy we should take it. Right mid is a position for skillful pacey players (unless you're absolute class). Not Dirk ****ing Kuyt.

And Meireles... woeful. Made to look like a sunday league player up against Adams

Jova. My word. I remember being relieved to find out we were still signing him after Rafa left. He's ****ing dreadful. Did he last the 90??

Skrtle isn't big enough or powerful enough to be a top class center back in the premiership.

Torres was well up for it tonight, but we couldn't get it together to create any chances for him. If we had, he'd have put them away. Must be so, so frustrating for him.

If this season is to be salvaged we need to bring in at least 2 players. One of which should be a winger. Would love to see Adam brought in as well. Doesn't hide and has a terrific range of passing. He was Alonso-esq tonight. 4 million. Pennies in todays market.

Being fair to Kenny, he had the players playing a more aggressive, pressing game. I could even understand him picking Poulson (who wasn't bad) and Jova - 2 fresh players with everything to prove. We were let down in key areas.

THF Blackpool don't play bad football. There were a lot of under-performers today and at least Kenny gave them a chance to prove themselves ( & the doubters wrong) instead of hooking them and further damaging the confidence.

Blackpool beat us because they did the basics better.

I would say 7. As far as definite starters for the first 11 I would say we have a perfect spine, 4 players, Reina, Agger, Gerrard and Torres. Other than those 4 I would not shed a tear or lose a minutes sleep if they left the club.

Of those that I wouldn't shed a tear etc I do think that some of them are squad players.

Jova was ****, apart from Torres nothing got going up top. For the first time since he's been at the club I think Kuyt looks f'cked during each game, he looks like he needs a rest. Normally can keep running but just looks tired now. The passing was certainly better tonight than at any time under Roy. I think we need some re-enforcements during Jan. We need a midfield enforcer and someone to help out Torres up top, along with a left back unless we can Insua back from loan.

Fair play to Blackpool though, they played some great football and deserved the win.

As much of a legend Kenny is I think the starting lineup was totally wrong. Jovanovic was absolute drivel, Poulsen who wasn't bad but didn't really offer the team anything positive either. Skrtel absolutely dire for the 2nd goal & their 1st goal reminded me of Lucky *******s United down the road ffs!
Anyway despite the lineup Kenny put out they were MORE than capable of beating the likes of Blackpool. What sickens me is that our team probably cost 50 times what there's did but **** me Blackpool had 50 times more desire than our boys - disgraceful!!!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

It takes time to build fluidity and cohesion. Blackpool aren't a team of superstars but they looked a better team than us, and I supsect a lot of it is down to the training and coaching.

Meh, shop window game. At least 4 or 5 players today will never start for us ever again.

kenny wants to play expansive attacking football, some of those players cant play that way and will likely be shipped out. I'm hopeful that we will sign some players in this window and that clarke drills the mistakes out of that defense.

bad result but i'm still unbeat and optimistic that things will get better as i know the king will demand that they do.
