Dunno why Kenny chose to use those players (Poulsen/Jova) and not including Babel or Maxi. There must be a reason, maybe he's evaluating the squad in view of the transfer window? Still, Poulsen had arguably his best game for us, it wasn't a fantastic performance by him but he did much better when he's told to press higher up the pitch. We're more enterprising, tried to play in their own half but couldn't sustain it for long periods, out of confidence or fitness, who knows?

Kenny will get it right. Improvement is going to be gradual.
    Are we winning?

All this talk about new players but if you were a non-lfc supporting footballer, would you actually sign for us? We won't have the money to pay big wages and the player has to fit the bill. Finding the player is easy, getting him to sign is another thing!

Whether the squad is just a broken group of players with zero confidence, or just plain ****, is up for debate. I know people are tired of hearing it but the bulk of this squad achieved 86 points not so long ago. So either the players are **** and Benitez worked wonders and over-achieved with a **** team, or they're much better than they're showing and are just broken beyond repair.

Either way there is a rot in this squad that needs sorting out.

Babel must be finally given an extended run in the side. He might be poo for large periods but he offers PACE!

Skrtel absolutely dire for the 2nd goal & their 1st goal reminded me of Luck *******s United down the road ffs!
Anyway despite the lineup Kenny put out they were MORE than capable of beating the likes of Blackpool. What sickens me is that our team probably cost 50 times what there's did but **** me Blackpool had 50 times more desire than our boys - disgraceful!!!
he's probably assessing all of the players by giving them a game. You only learn so much from training and matches is where it happens.

I think that to go forward, he needs to get rid of kuyt, jovanovic, meireles he bottle boy poof and bring in some decent wide players and a dog of war in midfield.

Only post I'm reading in this thread.

I'm sad again over a defeat and it feels good...

I am very calm, no knee jerk reactions, I really do think the majority of our players are not good enough and I hope you are very correct

I can't help but think Kenny picked that team knowing it would be **** and slow against a pacey, exciting and full of life Blackpool side in order to lower the expectations amongst the Liverpool fans since his return.

If there was a 50 50 ball didn't chase after it - blackpool did!! . I know kenny wants to see all the players we have but jovanovich and poulsen??? Unless of course we had no choice but to play them but we did Ngog would have been better or maxi . If we play like that on sunday the bitters will batter us.
I'm not disputing that we gave it away a lot, but to me we did so whilst trying to play with a high tempo and pass and move. It just came apart in the last third, which given how we've played this season, the form the players are in, and the fact that we've barely had shots on target in previous games, doesn't surprise me one ****ing bit. It will take time for players to get in form and gel better as a team. We all know we need a couple of top quality attackers but for the moment we don't have them sadly.

Their goals came at bad times, the first not long after we'd scored, the 2nd after we'd been all over them. **** happens. There were a lot of positives today for me

Line up was awful, negative, slow and zero creativity & he also showed a complete lack of urgency with the subs, shocked when i seen Shelvey coming on. One eye on the derby maybe?

Blackpool gave us a lesson in how to pass and move, how embarrassing is it to say that? How on earth Jovo,Meireles & Poulsen were allowed to stay on for so long is beyond me, Kuyt also. I've said it before and i'll say it again Meireles is not cut out for the Premier League, shocking passer and an absolute windbag.

Disappointed in kenny tonight, their keeper might aswell of went off for a cup of tea, that was just as bad as most of the away performances under good old Roy. I thought Torres was excellent, worked his bollox off, Reina kept us in the game and Lucas & Kelly had good first halfs.

Glen Johnson,Skrtel & Kuyt shouldn't be in the first team IMO, i'd actually be inclined to sell Johnson, massive flop if good offer came in for Kuyt & Skrtel sell them as well IMO. Jovo & Poulsen should be offloaded asap. Back to earth with a bang, Kenny has his work cut out for him but didn't do himself any favours tonight, if that performance happened under Roy we would be ripping him to shreds.

This was a massive game tonight, and we blew it manager and players, absolutely dreading the derby.

P.S. All the people slagging off Charlie Adam must be feeling bit silly, magnificent performance from him yet again, stand out in every single game for Blackpool.
How the **** was the lineup (away from home) negative?

Anyway, agree with much of the rest.

You never know, football is football. It could be in five years' time, ten years' time, two years' time. We have two years of a contract here, we are really pleased here, the people are very nice, the fans are very similar to Liverpool fans, with passion, so everything is going well."

I thought we were energetic and much much better in the 2nd half, up until their goal which imo had a foul on Skrtel in the build-up. We were all over them for a good 10/15 mins away from home, which we've not even looked close to doing under Roy

One step at a time. Lots of positives for me

Dissapointing result and shows how much of a task Kenny and the team have in restoring us.

We are lacking in a number of areas, what's worrying is that we are severly lacking in confidence and self belief. You'd have thought we'd have gone on and destroyed Blackpool after scoring so early. Can't fathom what is wrong with the players.

The performance was better though, at least we were somewhat more positive than we have been under the Bodge, needed more towards the end. We didn't even attempt to take the game to them in the final 10 minutes so that is worrying.

Some of the players are crap.

                            Poulson is dog turd

Jovanovic I don't think is good enough but in saying that he's hardly had a look in.

Meireles I don't think is good enough, he is too lightweight and is a ****ing pussy and can't tackle.

Lucas I think is too slow but is improving but I still don't think he is of Liverpool standard.

Kuyt had a bad one but he will get better. I'm sure Kenny will get them sorted soon but it is going to be an almighty challenge that is going to take time and patience.

Fingers crossed we get some decent players in and we can move forward.

Our defence is ****, but they had no protection from a piss poor midfield who's job was made worse because Kuyt and Jovanovic kept giving the ball away.
