Noticing how Arn ignores my post which exposes his completely incorrect comments about me 'thinking gerrard is perfect'....

Does anyone know, does Luis Suarez have leadership qualities?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

We've lost Xabi, Sami and Masher in this respect. They're a big loss not just on the field, but also off. Mash fired players (and fans) up with his aggression., but it's more the cool heads of the other 2 we miss. You need both hot and cool heads in a team. Gerrard and Carra are more the former.
I think cos Arn posted this it has polarised opinion somewhat. Unfortunate really cos we do lack leaders. Those 3 haven't been replaced personality- wise as well as talent-wise (of course you do need to have talent for other players to respect the other qualities).3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Excellent post.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostAgreed, but as I said, I think that's pretty low down in the list of priorities. We NEED better players. That's priority number 1. At least 1-2 that are going to go straight into the first team. If we do that, and they have an impact, it will raise the game of the entire team.
I also think it's totally unfair to shoulder Gerrard with the total responsibility of turning this around. Would Hyypia have been able to? In fact, it's the sheer class of Gerrard (and Torres) which has masked the sheer averagness of the rest of our attacking players for years now.
If the team can't pull itself out of this mess in the next 5 months then each and every player will have to take responsibility. Not just Gerrard - regardless of him being captain.

After coming runners up that was all we needed to add. Since then.............Originally posted by Lecter View PostYou need more than just those qualities though
Looking at our side we need the following
Leadership, organisation, aggression, belief
and thats before you get to things like pace & width
Forwards.......

It's too simplistic to say we need better players.
What we need is better coached players for one, which I think Kenny and Steve Clarke will sort out. I think to win titles we need better players, but to move up the table we need confidence and better coaching on the training field.Forwards.......

Agreed, but the best way to build confidence is to win games. Right now, the confidence of the squad is shot. A couple of signings would lift everyone - so long as they came in and made an impact of course.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostIt's too simplistic to say we need better players.

Coaching will obviously help as well. It's not a question of one or the other. It's both.K ris90210

What you need to win things is an organisation that works from top to bottom. If you miss one part then you won't succeed. We are missing many parts, one of them is strong leadership on the pitch.Originally posted by Drago View PostArn simply queation, Would Rafa have won anything with the man you hate Gerrard?
I don't hate Gerrard. He is a fantastic player. Only because I criticize him a lot doesn't mean that I hate him but he has let the club, fans and his team mates down many times.
I don't think he is as important to us as many of you think he is. He is a Liverpool legend but we would be able to replace him.
To answer your question. Would Rafa won anything with Gerrard? He won the CL so the answer is yes. Would he won anything without him? Who knows. That depends on the owners and a lot of other things.
Look at Chelsea now. One part that doesn't work and suddenly they fell apart. One part in a whole organisation. Man U had their biggest problem when they changed assistant manager a lot. One part that didn't work and they lost pace.
You must have an organisation that works from top to bottom.
Leadership on and off the pitch
Winning ambition
Money
Great players
Great staff
Great board
If one of the above is missing then you simply won't succeed. Look at all the clubs that won the PL. All of them worked from top to bottom. They didn't miss any part.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Yes He has let the club down by winning trophies all by himself.Originally posted by Arn View PostWhat you need to win things is an organisation that works from top to bottom. If you miss one part then you won't succeed. We are missing many parts, one of them is strong leadership on the pitch.

we can replace him ?
without Gerrard we would be nothing.
Get over your conspiracy theories and your irrational love for Rafa.
Gerrard is the best player we've got and without him we would be nothing.
