They targeted him with some rough house stuff - i thought he coped well.
    We come not to play.

That's something he'll have to put up with alot more if he moves to CB. I like him at RB I think he has a chance to cement a place there, I think we should let him establish himself at RB rather than at CB where we'll constantly switching players.

The 10/15 minutes after he went up for a header and landed on his face?

Understandable to be a bit weary after that if you ask me - I thought he was solid throughout. Up there with Torres as man of the match. Anyhoo.

Skrtel is a liability, it's only surprising it wasn't his 50 pence piece head that was the root of all our defensive problems - more his positional sense and awareness to his surroundings.

The question is whether it's too soon for Kelly. His future is at Centre Back, but learning his trade from a Full backs position is the best thing for him. However, at the moment - he's possibly one of our better options.

Kelly is well hard. He handles physical pressure better than any of our soft defenders.

Skrtel has been our stand out player of the season so far, despite having plenty of competition from Konchesky and Poulsen and even an out of form Glen Johnson. He is always the first name on the team sheet I look out for and my heart sinks to new depths. Shockingly awful defender, even Emmanuel Mendy, a 5'5" fullback playing CB in reserves, is better than him.

Kelly is so much better and stronger than him on so many levels I'll be upset with Dalglish if he doesn't make this easy swap very soon.

I hate to slate our players, but he is reason we did not win. He doesn't seem to know how mark man-to-man, gets out muscled, terrible positional sense and is not dominant in the air. Really needs some bench time and time on the training ground.

I'm not so sure he was at fault for the 1st goal. Distin seemed to coming from deep and Skrtel left his man to try and get back but couldn't do so in time. The second goal was just a calamity. Two men going for the same man leaving Beckford open.

I think he was supposed to be marking him but Distin lost him with the cluster of players(training ground routine) and then never even bothered to jump when him when he realised Distin was going to win the header, this might be my knee jerk reaction to the goal because I havn't seen a replay of it since it happened and with our defenders swapping with each other marking fellaini so it might of been a misunderstanding, same with the Blackpool goal midweek in that if he maybe just tried to jump with player heading it back across the goal the attacker might of miscontrolled it

                      A case for Zonal marking??

I'm not 100% either tbh. I'll have to see it again.

since the 1st game of last season where him and Carra ended up smashing into each other he's been pretty poor.

I think partly for the team and partly for his own good he needs taking out the firing line, I think he's adequate for a 3rd or 4th choice CB to come in when needed but not to be starting game in game out.

This for me is now actually the most pressing position to fill as it's really costing us games.

We lost the game because we didn't take our chances in the first half, and the substitutiion of Agger unsettled the back four, plus the Bitters put themselves about a bit more in the second half.

                              Carragher needlessly smashed into Skrtel.

He was very good in his first 18 months or so but he looks shot to pieces. Capable but too unreliable, brainless and rash. I think centre-back is a major issue for us now. Carra past his best, Skrtel shot to bits, Agger always injured, Soto limited. ****ing hell.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
