He never hid during his barren spell when IMO he was playing quite well despite not scoring, so good luck to him now that he is and long may it continue.
Crouch is a good yet underratedplayer, has his limitations yes but there are very few pro players that dont.

he will easily get to 20 goals in all competitions this season.

            Some interesting stats:

            Crouch 8 goals 786mins
            Fowler 2 goals 246mins
            Kuyt 3 goals 770mins
            Bellamy 2 goals 855mins

At this stage last season we had 16pts from 10 games, 7pts from 3CL games and were out of the league cup. We had scored 9 in the league and conceeded 8.

Compared to last season our strikers are actually doing better at this stage, we are in one more competition, we are 11pts off the top and were 12pts this time last season.

So despite all that has gone on we are actually slightly better off this season that last. Ironic isn't it

How many of those games has he started?

See you still towing the 6CM line. He's our most effective striker.

If it wasn't for crouch we'd be even in more **** than we currently are.

The interesting thing is Al the relative difference between us in terms of points and utd and chelski is far less than at this time last season. Rafa could be right, the league is going to be much tighter this season than last.

Crouch has only finished 1 league game and started 6 league games.
He has scored against the following clubs this season:

                  Chelsea
                  Maccabi
                  WHU
                  Galatasaray
                  Bordeaux
                  Reading
                  Aston Villa

He has scored in 3 of last four games. He has scored 8 this season despite only finishing 3 games.

                    There is no "6CM line".

I disagree that he's our most effective striker too. Kuyt is , but for now Crouch should be playing alongside him.

In terms of brute statistics Crouch is presently our most effective striker. No argument.

Here's some brute statistics for you then. League stats.

                        Crouch 8 Games 2 goals
                        Kuyt 8 games 3 goals.

Looking at them stats they're not to bad (I know you're not slagging the stats im just going off topic slightly) considering Kuyt has only started 6 League games and Crouch 4. If Crouch can end up with 20 starts 10 Subs appearances and 12 goals or something that'd be good, if Kuyt can end up with 30 starts a few sub games and 15-17 goals that'd be cracking. Got to start getting service to our strikers away from home now though and we'll be on our way.

how about seeing those stats against minutes played. would like to see that before making a judgment...

200 mins per goal for Kuyt
                                191 for Crouch.

If you want to make a judgement after 10 league games, be my guest. I'll wait until the season's over.

I expect Kuyt to get more opportunities than Crouch over the course of the season so I think he'll score more than Crouch. If Crouch hits double figures in the league we should be happy.

He's got an average of less than 8 goals a season in the Premiership over the course of his career. And since he joined us has hit one goal every four league games. He should improve on that this season though.
