A classic case in point. Did you really have to put the highlighted section in? All it does it perfectly illustrate your constant negative attitude towards Crouch. Why don't you expect it to stay there. What are you basing this pearl of wisdom on? For all you know (yes, even you) Crouch may improve on that ratio.

A simple grasp of statistics and some common sense should show why I have a realistic (rather than negative) view of things.

In his best ever season he scored 12 league goals, converting 16% of his chances. Last season he scored 8 converting 8% if his chances.

There are often exceptions to the rule, but the general rule is that things will deviate towards the mean rather than further away from it.

If you take the time to read my previous comments you'll see I've given him credit, I've also said he should be in the team as well at the moment. How anti- Crouch is that ?

What I really am is pro- Liverpool winning the league. We will not do that with Crouch as a regular starter up front.

That we won't win the league with Crouch up front, because he isn't good enough, and by proxy Rafa isn't good enough as a manager to win us the league because he bought and picked Crouch?

I think there is a debate about Crouch. It's not whether he is any good, he clearly is. The statistics for the second half of last season and the beginning of this prove he is.

Unfortunately he has not at any point in his career had a sustained one season plus run of this level of form. I think he is a late bloomer and is now coming to his true level - a very good one. Still it is a level below the really top players (such as Henry) and we have to question wether we are a good enough team to win the league without players of true world class up front
I would err to the side of the fact that Rafa has proved at Valencia that it can be done, but that is not the PL. So there does remain room for debate.

You're reading a bit more into it than is actually there, just take the words at face value.
