Re Meireles - I gave Hodgson no end of stick for playing him out of position, both on the right and off a striker, where he looked poor. He had an advanced, free-ish role today and for the first time in that role was outstanding. I'd prefer to see Raul drop back into CM in midweek, with Gerrard off Nando. Or they can alternate if needs be. Point is Raul looked a fish out of water playing on the right and I'm sure as **** we won't see that again. He's becoming a big player for us and has to stay central.

exactly right. I had to laugh when I saw somewhere (I think it was the sky text commentary) regarding his goal - "Roy Hodgson signing Raul Meireles" Yeah he signed him but he was hardly the same player was he? I wonder if that was something to do with him playing on the wing!

Wouldn't say we controlled the game whatsoever, maybe in the first half but 2nd half Wolves had plenty of the ball - just missed that bit of quality in the final third.

Guilty of giving away silly free-kicks in dangerous areas about half a dozen times - Skrtel, Agger and Lucas need to cut that out.

That's generally what happens when you're 2-0 up away from home and want to make sure you keep that lead. The other side WILL have lots of the ball.
