Luis Suarez today revealed his desire to help fire Liverpool back into the Champions League sooner rather than later

With eight games still to play, the striker acknowledges there is still plenty to compete for in 2010-11 as the Reds aim to secure a European qualification berth.
However, Suarez is already setting his sights on leading the club back into the Champions League - a competition in which he firmly believes we belong.
He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "We are now four points off fifth position and we have to try and finish as high as possible to leave a good impression.
"The important thing will be next season.
"Hopefully it will go really well and we'll be able to go into the Champions League because Liverpool are a Champions League club."
Suarez has proven a revelation since arriving at Anfield on January's transfer deadline day.
The Uruguayan has supplied two goals and several assists in his five appearances so far and admits he's enjoying settling into his new life in the city.
Suarez said: "Life is good here. I now have my house and when I go walking through the city, the fans respect me and allow me to have my family time.
"I am really happy at the club and with my teammates, and have been surprised at how good everything has been.
"Liverpool are a club at world level. In the last few games we've really improved and played well. We hope we can continue winning points."
Such has been Suarez's early impact at Liverpool, the 24-year-old was voted as the Standard Chartered Player of the Month for March by fans on this website - despite only making two appearances.
He added: "After only two months the fans have treated me so well and I am really happy.
"You always have this fear that it won't go so well at the start, but the warmth of the people, how much the fans love the club, and the support of my teammates has all really helped."

Suarez relishing Carroll partnership

Luis Suarez believes his contrasting style with Andy Carroll can see their burgeoning partnership flourish.
The diminutive Uruguayan offers a very different threat to that of the England striker, but both gave glimpses of a promising tandem in the recent win over Sunderland.
The 2-0 victory at the Stadium of Light was the first time the pair had started together - and the former Ajax man was quick to highlight the different qualities they will bring to Liverpool.
"I think it's great to play alongside someone who has Andy's qualities," Suarez told LFC Weekly.
"I've played with guys like him in the past and it gives defenders real headaches. On one side they have to be vigilant to prevent him winning the ball. At the same time they have to be watching a completely different threat with me on the ground."
Comparisons have already been made between the pairing of John Toshack and Kevin Keegan, while Steven Gerrard recently declared the duo as the 'most feared strike force in the league'.
Suarez, however, prefers to let the understanding develop naturally.
"If you try and focus on it too much, it probably won't happen," claimed the Reds No.7.
"I think if you start analysing the partnership too much during a game and trying to work out exactly where the other guy is going to be, you can miss out on chances. What tends to happen is you learn about the other player automatically. That's what I've been doing when I've been playing up front with David, Dirk or Andy. Your brain starts to do it automatically.
"As time goes by you start to read each other's runs off the ball and movements the understanding develops."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Kenny Dalglish tips Liverpool FC's Luis Suarez to finish season with a flourish

KENNY DALGLISH has backed "mischief" maker Luis Suarez to finish the season with a flourish by further stamping his impact on English football.
European ineligibility and international breaks have left Suarez enduring a stop-start beginning to his Liverpool career since arriving from Ajax for £22.8million in January.
However, the Anfield outfit’s elimination from the Europa League last month has allowed the Uruguay striker to regularly join in training.
Suarez sat out his country's recent internationals against Estonia and the Republic of Ireland after sustaining a groin injury during the 2-0 win at Sunderland a fortnight ago in which he scored.
But the 24-year-old is available for today’s Premier League trip to West Bromwich Albion with Liverpool manager Dalglish hailing the forward’s infectious approach.
"He is a happy guy and got a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye and there is some mischief in there," said the Scot.
"He has come in and mixed with the lads and the fact he came from Uruguay and learnt Dutch is a fantastic achievement – so I’m told – so he will pick up English very quickly; his wife speaks English so I think he has settled in quickly and he has a little baby and his family life is settled and he is settled in his football.
"It was a little bit difficult at times because he wasn’t eligible for the Europa League so he trained sometimes then missed other sessions.
"He has brought optimism, as have many others as well. They are enjoying what is happening at the moment and it is up to us to keep it going and the longer we can keep it going then the happier we will be."
Suarez recently admitted he was unaware of the significance of the number seven shirt at Liverpool, a jersey worn, among others, by Dalglish himself during his playing days.
But the Liverpool manager added: "I don’t think it would change him if he did anyway. He is always going to give you everything he has got on the pitch.
"He gives you whatever he has got and he has an awful lot to give and that is great for us and everybody who supports the club.
"He has done really well and settled in really quickly and encompasses everything about Liverpool and the way we play football and we have been delighted with him."
Today’s match is the first reunion with Roy Hodgson since the former Anfield manager was replaced by Dalglish in the New Year.
Liverpool’s players returned unscathed from international duty, with Andy Carroll having bolstered his stock with a first England goal in the 1-1 draw against Ghana at Wembley on Tuesday.
The break also gave skipper Steven Gerrard the time to recover from groin surgery and put himself into contention for this afternoon.
The 30-year-old has missed only one league match – the win on Wearside – since his operation, while Jonjo Shelvey has returned to training after knee surgery.
However, defender Martin Kelly has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem with Fabio Aurelio also making slow progress from a similar injury.
"It has been almost two weeks between games but for us we were delighted with the way they played at Sunderland and so will they have been," said Dalglish.
"But the result is consigned to history as soon as it is won. For us, we just move forward to the next game."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Suarez: I was LFC on PlayStation

Luis Suarez has revealed how Liverpool was his PlayStation team when he was a boy.
The Uruguay international supports his first club, Montevideo de Nacional, but that's not to say Anfield wasn't on his radar as a youngster.
"The whole world knows what history Liverpool have," Suarez told FourFourTwo.
"They are one of the best teams in Europe, some great players have played here and I was very excited to join. When I was 10-years-old I used to play as them on PlayStation but I never imagined I would play here."
Kenny Dalglish carved his name as a footballing icon before Suarez was born - but it hasn't taken long for the Scot's legendary status to translate.
"I've already learned a lot from him," said the 24-year-old. "It seems like it's only been a little while since he was last coaching.
"The first thing he said to me was 'Hola, bienvenido' [Hello, welcome]. He still talks to me in Spanish because I don't understand English fully yet. This makes me feel wanted."
While his new strike-partner Andy Carroll grew up idolising local hero Alan Shearer, Suarez looked a little further from home for footballing inspiration - Argentina, to be precise.
"Gabriel Batistuta reflects the bread and butter of the striker; what his soul must be," said our No.7. "I think I have acquired that never-surrender attitude from him, because he never gave up."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I also thought his was supposed to be a rags to riches story too and he had nothing growing up.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
