I just read somewhere that We were looking to spend the suggested fee for Torres and bring in these 3 Suarez, Young and Adam as his replacements / strengthening the side.

Are you happy with that? If someone said to you that you can have these 3 for Torres would you think it's good business?

Surely we need another striker to replace Torres as Suarez was meant to be bought to play with him not instead of !

not really. considering 2 of those three were deals we tried to close in on before this torres mess, that still leaves us...about 50 million. if we make the sale and only get young for our trouble, that's terrible business. at least in the short term. i won't be happy unless there is another striker coming in before the end of the day.

There is a good chance that we'll demand someone from the chavs. Some saying Anelka but more likely Sturidge. I'd like Anelka but he is getting on a bit and not for the 8mil pound fee suggested somewhere.

i'd take those three plus anelka. but anelka came out and said he's not into the idea.

edit: therefore i hope he stays if those three players are the only ones we get. and i think adam will probably come and suarez is definite. don't even think we'll get ashley young but i guess we could. so adam and suarez and no torres for me is just going to leave us too deep in the ****.

I'd be happy with another decent striker plus Young and Adam as the Suarez purchase wasn't connected to the sale of Torres. We needed another striker as well as Torres and if he leaves he must be replaced IMO.

No but we were hardly going to break the bank with our 4.5 mil offer for Adam. Especially when we sold babel for 6mil. Young? Don't know if we are serious or not TBH.

Weird really at his age. Chelsea's chances of winning the CL are slim, and he's likely to be a bit part player. The opportunity to become a legend at Liverpool is worth 3 CL medals anyway, considering he's a fan

If we had the time to negotiate a deal for a top striker then I'm sure we would. But as we've said before, the timing of the transfer request has done us no favors at all. That said, I doubt the Chavs would offer 50 mil in the summer unless someone else was in the frame. If we take the deal that's looking more and more apparent, we could then start our shopping and buy when the times right. I still want to see someone come in as cover for Suarez and Ngog/ Kuyt but if it didn't happen, would it be the end of the world? Just a question.

we would slide right back down the table instead of trying to get into the european places. we bring in a striker who can lead the line or we keep torres. if i were in charge, those would be the only two options. would probably even take anelka on loan if i got the feeling he'd actually try.

also as i've said before, we really don't need the money. we need players.

and considering we were in for adam when torres was staying, it's really just torres or ashley young.
