Read on the BBC live text that the Alonso goal two years ago was in fact awarded as an OG; and ignoring that our last league goal there was in 2003 or something silly.

I had written a post myself to vent my frustration but decided not to hit send as I didn't want others who offer fair criticism to think I was including them. Was even thinking of starting a thread to see what other people think of the match threads, because some of them are a complete joke. I know some people post irrationally due to the tension, but there are others who patiently wait until their pet subject(s) makes the slightest mistake and are all over the thread constantly repeating the same crap, basicaly spamming the thread. There are some who go completely OTT which I don't agree with, but they will contribute to the thread in other ways and maybe even backtrack and give credit where it's due, and that's fair enough. But some ******s just come in to moan and complain, think other readers have the memory of a goldfish and need constant reminding of their agenda driven crap every 5 seconds and offer **** all of substance to the general discussion. Some will then **** off once we start playing well in the game and wait on their next opportunity.

Today's thread wasn't even that bad, but considering we were playing an in form Chelsea that a lot of people expected us to get stuffed by, we went the whole game without giving them a sniff, yet from the thread you'd nearly think we were losing from the first minute.

Why are you calling them hoofs? That's not a neutral, objective term, it's laden with a pejorative meaning.

I can understand why Gorby uses the term but it's beneath you, Professor Arn.

Well, they are hoofs and by that I mean passes aimed only to remove the pressure or just to get rid off the ball.

All hoofs aren't negative but they are still hoofs.

Carra don't have Agger's passing game so it will be more hoofs in pressured situations.

Carra is an out and out defensive defender. Very good at that but very average attacking.

The question is if we can afford to have one central defender that is only there to defend? Will that affect our attacking play to much? Do it cost us to many counter attacks to play with a defender like Carra?

Maybe I should explain what I meant with all the stats.

It showed that Carra hasn't improved his passing. If you look at the chalkboard then you will see that he missed many short passes and not only long hoofs.

Maybe you should have looked at the chalkboard before having a go at me.

Then the Gerrard one.

If you again look at the chalkboard then you will discover that Lucas actually tried at least as many long passes as our Captain. The difference was that Lucas succeeded with more of them.

Carra must improve his passing game or he won't be good enough in a pass and move team. No passengers allowed. He is still a great fighter with a lot of heart and that is what is saves him. He never gives up a duel.

You see, I think you say a lot things just to get a reaction. You can't complain when you achieve your goal.

I think there are a few that do that. Some people post without thinking, but I genuinely do read some posts and think if that person really believed what they have just typed, then there is no way they would have been capable of even turning on a PC or equivalent. So naturally the only alternative is they want a reaction as they are a WUM or just want some attention.

I was hoping for one of his Gremio moments that time he was carrying the ball on the counterattack and would have made my day to see him run 60 yards and bury it in the top corner.

Instead he didn’t get past the half way line.

but he nearly played someone in. and at 1-0 away to chelsea in the dying minutes, i think he can be forgiven to handing the ball off to a forward player and maintaining his position.
