Lets face it, we're not good enough to be challenging for the title. We have some serious problems concerning the way we play. It seems like our players lack communication, lack sharpness and more importantly, lack the confidence they had last season.

The diamond system is NOT what we need. Instead of admitting he's wrong, Carlo persists on playing this way.

Converting the system to 4-4-2 with both Drogs and Torres in the middle was always the better solution.
Cech is losing his focus too much and seems way out of form when it comes to receiving high balls. Mikel, Lampard and Essien do not seem like they want to fight for balls in the middle, and I won't even go on about their passing.

Even so, we can still improve if we manage to find the right system and once Carlo sticks his ego out of his arse and realises the way he puts the players on the field is most definitely not the right way. I'd say the PL is quite a lost cause, but all to play for in the CL no doubt.
Seriously I dont get this comment

They think it best to play 4-4-2

Who are they going to play central midfield because Lampard can in no way play one of those positions - he vacates the midfield space far too often and would leave them massively exposed

These were key incidents. Key! At least, the miss was. And the pass could well have been. Couldn't bloody believe that.

Those two apart, he was alright. But bloody hell. He could quite easily have cost us yesterday. But the stats don't tell that story do they? No. It goes down as a missplaced pass and a shot off target. Big wow.

I think you rely too heavily on stats to make your judgements sometimes Matt.

Did anyone notice how much Essien seems to have declined? Gerrard and Lucas dominated him for many periods of the game...

On another note, did anyone notice Gerrard smash that volley to Johnson across the pitch early on? I swear he looked like he just wanted to belt the **** out of it (after someone had ****ed up from our team?) but it went nearly straight to johnson.

That was some pass. Some Chelsea fans were giving him the bird for it as they thought it was going straight into the crowd......only for them to shut up pretty sharpish when it landed on Johnson's foot.

                Good control by Johnson too.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Either a regular 4-4-2 or a wing back 3-5-2 system would suit them best IMO the diamond 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 doesn't work for them now.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Give Kenny the job permanently now.
Aye - my view at the Bridge in the upper stand was perfect for watching our formation...e had 4-5 players flooding in to their final third time and time again, completely opposite to Hodgeson's tactics, where even one player would've been too many.

Firmly believe he's not the player he used to be. Suspect the injuries he's suffered have taken their toll, and he isn't able to perform anywhere near the consistent level we've seen in the past.
Still capable of a great performance every now and then, but Chelsea being dominated in midfield isn't new these days.....doesn't help when you've only Mikel and Lamps in there to help either.
Probably time for him to move on to a big club.

Me too. I am suprised his passing was slagged off so much. Agger was caught in possession a number of times and you can always trust Carra to at least get the ball the **** out of there and he also found feet quite a number of times. If he did that every game I would be content knowing that Agger is there to bring the ball out of defence.

Excellent performance alright, especially in a relatively unfamiliar setup, solid all game, played the easy ball out of defense.......think it helps when he's playing against players he knows so well. Faced off against Drogba numerous times and the traitor is not the player he once was.
Chelsea I feel have problems in attack that need to be addressed. Drogba only seems to be going through the motions at times for them before his summer departure, Anelka isn't getting any younger, and although still fit he isn't scoring the goals of previous years.
Their attempts to shoe-horn the three into a fluid system will take time, and even then, is not guaranteed to work against as was displayed yesterday.
