Now complete, the stand is the main external 'face' of the stadium, being the first thing fans see when entering the primary gate on Fulham Road. The Main Entrance is flanked by the Spackman and Speedie hospitality entrances, named after former Chelsea players Nigel Spackman and David Speedie. The stand also features the largest concourse area in the stadium, it is also known as the 'Great Hall' and is used for many functions at Stamford Bridge including the Chelsea player of the year ceremony. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

its on wiki but must be a pisstake
Despite playing the majority of his career with Chelsea FC and having a stadium entrance at Stamford Bridge named after him, Spackman commented before the Champion's League semi-final between Chelsea and Liverpool (30 April 2008): "My loyalties have always been with Liverpool, though I don't give that away too easily," he revealed. "That is actually why I am not going to the game, because there is so much pressure. I just hope Liverpool will pull through and we play Man Utd in Moscow_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

I'm surprised Spackman chooses us over Chelsea. Not that's he's wrong to do so of course, but he always seemed to crop up on Sky when Chelsea were under discussion..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Just a bit. He played for us for what, a year, and must have appeared for Chelsea 250 odd times.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI'm surprised Spackman chooses us over Chelsea. It's true!
Spackman backs Reds over former club
Jimmy Rice in Chelsea
30th Apr 2008 - Latest News
LFC To Go
One of the few players to excel for both Liverpool and Chelsea has backed the Reds to book a place in Moscow.
Nigel Spackman, who sandwiched 50 games at Anfield between two spells at Chelsea in the 1980s, admits the Blues hold a slight advantage going into tonight's Champions League semi-final second leg.
However, the Setanta pundit saw signs in Liverpool's performance during last week's 1-1 to suggest they can boss what he believes will be a tight affair.
"I think it's slightly in Chelsea's favour because of the away goal. But we've seen it all before in semi-finals, haven't we? Things change, so this is far from over." Spackman told Liverpoolfc.tv in London last night.
"Liverpool can overturn this, for sure. I was there at the first leg with all the old boys and Liverpool were definitely the better team on the night. The own goal was a spanner in the works and it will be very difficult now because of their record at Chelsea.
"But the cutting edge of Torres is the difference now. I don't think either he or Steven Gerrard played fully to their potential in the first leg, but if these big players perform on the night, they can turn this tie on its head. They need to keep it tight early on, not give anything away, then see where they go from there.
"Liverpool are more than capable of going there and scoring. Gerrard and Torres are more than capable of scoring, and there's always the threat of Peter Crouch from the bench."
While the Reds go into tonight's clash needing a goal to keep their Champions League dream alive, Spackman believes patience could be a virtue which pays off at the Bridge.
"I don't expect this game to be any different from previous ones, to be honest – particularly in the first half," he said.
"We'll see what they're playing for in the last 45 minutes. The longer it stays 0-0, the more nervous Chelsea will become. That one mistake could cost them.
"I can see the tie going into extra-time, maybe even penalties. I think it will be that tight."
So, having played for both clubs – and even having a section of Stamford Bridge named in his honour – who will 'Spackas' be supporting this evening?
"My loyalties have always been with Liverpool, though I don't give that away too easily," he revealed. "That is actually why I am not going to the game, because there is so much pressure. I just hope Liverpool will pull through and we play Man Utd in Moscow."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Ron "Chopper" Harris has a niggling grievance that just will not go away. He played 655 league games for Chelsea FC, more than anyone else ever has or probably ever will; he was the first Chelsea captain to lift the FA Cup, and the first to lift the European Cup Winners' Cup. But is there a bar or a function suite or even a turnstile named after him at Stamford Bridge? No, there bleedin' well isn't.
"I go to the ground, and see Roy Bentley remembered, Bobby Tambling, Kerry Dixon, [Gianfranco] Zola, Dennis Wise. There's even a Nigel Spackman entrance. But me, nothing. If I'd been a pain in the arse I could understand it, but..."
