I hate the phrase 'am I the only one...'

But, am I the only one to see a change in Jamies passing on Sunday?

It seemed if some one, some where had been listening to what Carra's weakness's were from us lot, and had a word.

Yet we've not noticed a difference.

He had an excellent game. Well done Jamie.

I'm on page 6, is it worth reading the rest of the thread?
      Brilliant

I had a similar video from the cup final in 2006, of when Pepe saved the last penalty and we won - similar 'earthquake' effect

      Lost my phone handset though

I'm of the opinion Carragher's supposed lack of ability on the ball is massively exaggerated and has been for years now.

He really isn't that bad on the ball, never has been.

always was a huge fan of carra's "tricks" when deputizing at right back under rafa. looked hilarious, but by god they nearly always worked.

He's had his moments although to be fair to him hoof ball is generally a product of not having other passing options, which is therefore the fault his team mates.

Not sure it is necessarily a bad thing - Wigan have a poor defence and we could always go for an asymmetric front three of Meireles and Suarez either side of Kuyt. It will certainly be interesting to see what Kenny does but the evidence so far has very much been horses for courses tactically.

The last paragraph I do agree with. I was surprised with our January efforts as I had given up on the season, but it was definitely clear that the men who mattered didn't.
I'm not sure that Bartons corners in particular are that much better but the consistency of his delivery of deep crosses allied to good set pieces have been a major factor in Newcastle's successes this season. In the last season or so our success in these areas seems to have gone down - I guess the question is whether this is a problem with delivery or more to do with a lack of size and aerial prowess in the side.

I thought last year we had scored the most goals from corners at one stage, or was that the year before?

I do think a lack of presence in the box is a major factor, as my brother and someone on this site recently mentioned, when Soto plays Gerrard finds him 90% of the time, so he is perfectly capable. It made me wonder actually if Gerrard purposely plays a high risk corner, that although may hit the first man quite often, is a lot more dangerous when it gets past him.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It was certainly true the season before last, I would be (very) surprised if it were true last year.

Neil Young (IIRC) has suggested that about Gerrard before. It seems plausible.

Love those articles. It's that kind of analysis Sky should be going for, rather than their idiotic sensationalisation style.

He always has the choice to be 'conservative' with the ball though, that is, pass it back or laterally instead of looking for 'in-existent' options upfront.
                        Are we winning?

Given his team mates predilection for musical statues (up until recently) I could foresee a game of Reina ping pong whereby the ball is transferred between the two of them without abeyance.
