    Steve Clarke

IMO the big reason to our much improved defence. Everyone know what they should do, very few mistakes.

    A fantastic signing.

He's top class. Brilliant bit of a business getting him in.

probably played a big part today too. If Kenny is at all rusty, then Clark's cutting edge knowledge is just what he needs alongside him.

How many passes did he complete today and how many tackles made?

We always had it in us to defend well, so I don't know why it would be all down to Clarke. It's just that we've got better coaches now, compared to the awfully **** previous regime.

That's not what I meant, he didn't really have to 'coach them' how to defend, just going back to what they were doing not so long ago. Comprendo?

Of course we do, just that we had an exceptionally bad [uncoach]coach[/uncoach] in Roy Hodgson.

i think this proves that kenny is totally on the ball with regards to football matters.

i hope they make his appointment permanent because his impact has been immense.

Where did I say they weren't needed?

We always had a superb defence under Benitez, it wouldn't have taken us long under a good coach to regain those qualities. That was my point, maybe I didn't express them properly.
