Lucas Levia is set to make his 100th Premiership appearance for Liverpool.

If Lucas is selected for tomorrow's home game with Wigan he will make his century of Premiership appearances for the Reds. It is a welcome milestone for a player who initally struggled to adapt to English football.

Reds trio doubts for Latics clash


Kenny Dalglish will hand late fitness tests to Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Jonjo Shelvey ahead of the clash with Wigan. Shelvey?

Gerrard missed the England clash with Denmark due to a groin injury, picked up against Chelsea last week, but he may have recovered in time to face the Latics at Anfield. Skrtel has a thigh injury which kept him out of Slovakia's friendly with Luxembourg and he faces a late test alongside Shelvey who missed England's Under-21 defeat to Italy with a knee problem.
Joe Cole is also a doubt with a knee problem but he has an outside chance of making the bench after returning to training, while new signing Andy Carroll is still unavailable.
Uruguay star Luis Suarez is in line to make his full debut after appearing as a substitute in the last two games.

I think we have to register a minimum amount of homegrown players, irrespective of who else we register. It'll be the same reason we keep Darby and Spearing around, and bought Jones - to make sure we meet that minimum number.

For every homegrown player that you are short of in the squad you lose the ability to register that spot.

i.e. if you need 8 homegrown players and only regsiter 6 you can then only name a 23 man squad.

However if the the homegrown spots are given to u21's then it doesnt really matter as they would have been able to play anyway. Probably more of a confidence boost thing for sterling than anything else. Better to register him than not bother.

I'd probably rest Johnson as he played the full 90 for England and go with something like this. You can change Kuyt and Suarez but that's how I'd start off.
