We were so, so poor tonight. Where was the pass and move of recent games. For those who didn;t catch the game, it was just like watching us under Hodgson.

Kuyt was absolutely dreadful. Offered nothing going forwards. Again.
Maxi was just as bad. These two just aren't making an impact.
Joe Cole was very, very poor. But in his defence he's not had much football lately. If he gets a run of games I think he'd improve.
N'gog had a poor game as well, although he was feeding off scraps. I think he's improved this season, but he's going to have an uphill struggle getting into the side once Carrol and Suarez are playing regularly.

    Kyrgiakos was MOM for me.

Bit meh, he's only back from injury and it'll take a few games for him to get back into the swing of things.
Few nice touches, gave the ball away once or twice, got booked. Mixed bag.

'Honeymoon period is over' what a load of bollocks.

****ing hell there is some nonsense written on here... we drew away in the first leg of a 2 leg tie FFS.

He is not utterly **** defensively, he is bad yes but he is not as bad as you are making out, the point of the post was more to suggest moving him into a more attacking position would be the best way to play him, as i think his dribbling adds a lot to the team, he is one of the few players we have who can actually beat a man. And on the whole his crosses are accurate, can get a goal or two too. It all points to a right midfielder.

          Poor defender - Yes
Potentially very good winger - Yes

I do not want him gone in the summer, no matter what the circumstances

Not to mention we were missing Gerrard, Carroll, Suarez, Agger and Kelly. Five of our best players.

I think from now on we should win all our games 5 nil.

we really suffer without gerrard in the side because we used to be able to rely on xabi to run the midfield in his absence. remember that match against...juve mebbe? where gerrard was either suspended or injured and xabi hadn't been playing much--it was not long after he had joined us--and he ****ing bossed them in the middle of the park? that was brilliant.

joe cole, lucas, raul and aurelio in the middle? meh.

A decent team would have punished us big time in that first half. All because of him. Him getting up the line and putting a few crosses in wont change the fact he very nearly cost us two goals.

Either play him on the wing or **** him out of the club and get a full back who can defend. You know that thing a full back should be able to do first and foremost.

Fair enough but at the same time, you'd be hoping for a better showing than that...string a few passes together and create chances.
Look like a half decent side.

One thing's for sure we need to get Carroll fit asap, lack of a physical presence up front is shocking.

The fact we're talking about really missing someone who hasn't played for us yet and a kid who is only just coming through tells us just how sorely we lack depth.

                            Seems like it.

Just the predictable over reaction to a boring game, just like how everyone on here thinks we are awesome and going to get forth if we win. Dalglish has been in less than 2 months and you think the honeymoon period is over after an away draw...? He has won 4 and drawn 2 in the league, drawn away in Europe and lost to Man U in the cup on his first day...

The truth? We are somewhere in between and we are ****ing better than we were 6 weeks ago thats for sure.

He's not going to play on the wing for us tho, if he was, it would have happened well before now. Kenny's playing him at left back which says it all.

Fact of the matter is, he's a right back by trade and cannot defend.
Never known a player to be defended(pun not intended) as much as Johnson, if he played for United, Arsenal, Chelsea he'd get absolutely slaughtered week in and week out.

I'd be laughing my balls off if Johnson was playing for one of those clubs. They wouldn't put up with him for half as long though.
