Aurelio is one of our best ball playing players. Shame that.
      Are we winning?

i think i would prefer us not to sign injury prone players.

        we have fab and agger.

we see lots of posts saying if they can stay fit and the problem is they just cant. thats why we need to replace them.

Shame that he cannot stay healthy for more than a game or two in the row (when he plays) and on that basis we should probably be looking to release him in summer. Yes he signed 2 year contract but there is no reason to be keep him in the squad with a such a poor injury record.

i really wish they were both more or less injury free.

cracking players its just no use if you play less than half the games.

Great player but bad luck with injuries and IMO that is why he hasn't been given a regular shot at LB.

our best season under Rafa was when we had another left back and iirc Fabio was picked for most of the big games. There is no coincidence as he is a really good player.

just no use if he cant play.

infact i am getting annoyed with us signing injury prone players. I understand why we did it but would rather that we steer clear if possible in the future

I always thought he was a player who thought he was really good at free kicks. Like Hamman, but tended to waste 90%.

As a defender, he is ok. Never thought much of him in the air.

Johnson has done ok there, so I am not that bothered.

Anyone remember how Rafa tried him out as a holding midfielder after Alonso left... haha.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

he should be moved on in the summer....

We need to sign a top left back, and then make a decision - we have the konk and insua coming back from loans - either keep one of them as the cover for the new left back or go out and sign a second left back.....which lets be honest, we don't want to be spending to much on and for up to £5m we won't get much better than say insua anway - for now i'd take a top left back and insua for next season

Will Insua come back though? He's in the last year of his contract. How does that play out once his loan is finished? I'd almost rather keep on Aurelio as back up for whoever we sign.

We've been linked with Celtic's left back, whose name I can't spell, over the weekend.

Does anyone else think it's time to get rid of Aurelio if we can. As good a player as he is he is never fully fit. He's only started 86 games sinced he signed for us 5 years ago and has only started 52 PL games in 5 years despite left back being a problem position for us. He's 31 now IMO we should let him go.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

as much as i like aurelio as a player he is too injury prone and its prob best to let him go.

with konchesky, id move him on permanently in the summer too. likewise insua. these two are never gonna be good enough for lfc and aurelio never gonna be fit.

johnson doing a half decent job at left back at the moment but i doubt he'll stay there full time. not sure why as if he performs than he may stay at left back but got a feeling he'll go back to the right hand side next year.

wilson keeps getting played there when he gets games but he is not a left back - he's a centre half and unlike kelly on the right i dont think his games suits playing on the side.

i think we need to splash out on 2 left backs in the summer - one 1st teamer and one backup/potential future player.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

IMO he will be off in summer.

There is no reason to keep him not only because of his age and his injury record but also because Kenny doesn't see him as LB and that was his strength.

You don't build a consistent high performing team with injury-prone players.
