But if he loses the ball he completely isolates Lucas, leaving him completely outnumbered. He needs to be more disciplined in his attacks

Gerrard needs to be really disciplined today and not completely abandon Lucas like he did last week. Lucas took on three on his own, if the same happens today we lose. Use your brains, Stevie.

So far Gerrard has been pretty average under Kenny. Kenny needs to get to grips with where to play him and realise that you cant really build a team round him. IMO he should be played off a striker or as the most attacking in a midfield three (variant on same position really) I also think he could do a lot of damage from the right. He should never be played in centre mid in a 4-4-2 or in the two in a 4-2-3-1 unless of course he's going to magically discover some discipline. He managed it for the Chelsea game but that was a rare occurrence.
