After forwarding on the Echo article to a Chelsea colleague, I recieved the following:
Significant though that Liverpool finally start playing to their potential once they are out of the title race.
Which goes to show they have a mental block about winning the thing.
And for that you have to blame F.S.W.
Just like Ranieri was a decent coach but fundamentally not a winner, F.S.W. can’t install that “we’re the best” belief that separates the great teams from the rest.
Even Ferguson’s got his team believing they can win the league even though they probably can’t. And I think Liverpool are better equipped than Man U in all respects
Except mentality.
The feud thing may or may not be true, Gerrard wants out and Benitez (F.S.W.) wants him out (presumably to get £20M in to buy more Spaniards) but neither of them can be seen to be the one to cause the departure – as the Liverpool fans will be sending death threats. They need to concoct some sort of ‘mutual agreement’ story.
