My guess is that he thinks that Lucas and Spearing will do a better job breaking up play and putting some energy into midfield. A or 3-4-3/3-5-1-1 would be an interesting choice.

To be fair to Kenny he inherited a strange squad in transition for two years with the most recent buys being totally disastrous (except Meireles who have been very good, as I believe even Rudo now accepts).
