Pongolle started at the weekend and Recreativo Huelva won 2-0.

He was lively throughout and played a lovely ball through for the first goal.

Liverpool midfielder David Mannix has joined Accrington Stanley on a month's loan.

Academy graduate Mannix has seen his progress at Anfield halted by a number of serious injuries but the midfielder is fit again and hoping to prove himself during his time with the League Two side.

Mannix goes straight into the Accrington squad for tomorrow's game against Grimsby Town.

FC Sochaux-Montbéliard moved into second place in Ligue 1 after their 3-1 away win against Lorient FC, level on points with LOSC Lille Métropole who drew 1-1 at home against AS Monaco FC.

Anthony Le Tallec scored twice to help his side recover from an early setback and move into second place in the French top-flight. The former Liverpool FC forward's two goals in the space of three first-half minutes cancelled out Sylvain Marchal's first-minute strike and Karim Ziani's penalty shortly before half-time deflated the home side. Sochaux are now eleven points behind leaders Olympique Lyonnais, who play AJ Auxerre tomorrow.

                    From sky:

Djibril Cisse expects to make his Marseille debut within the next three weeks.

The striker is recovering from a broken leg he suffered in a World Cup warm-up game for France against China in June.

Since the injury, Cisse has joined Marseille on loan from Liverpool and is closing on his first appearance for the club.

After earmarking a return before Christmas, Cisse admits he is feeling in good shape ahead of his comeback.

"I will be back on December 9 or 16, but I am not 100 percent sure," Cisse told French channel M6.

"I feel good, I don't feel any more pain."

Marseille play Monaco at Stade Velodrome on December 9 before a trip to Nancy the following week.

Accrington's depleted squad has been hit by news that injury has ended midfielder David Mannix's loan spell from Liverpool.

Mannix, who made his Stanley debut at Grimsby after signing just ahead of the deadline, has a knee injury.

Scans have shown the 21-year-old sustained ligament damage and he has returned to Anfield for treatment.

Mannix will not be fit to return for Accrington before the end of his one-month loan agreement.

                        He's always picking up injuries.

Wasn't he rated pretty highly at one stage?

Pongolle scored the second goal for Recreativo Huelva against Valencia.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                            Excellent finish as well.

Shrugged off Albiol, then went around Canizares.

I think he might end up coming back to us to replace Robbie, but we shall see.
