Not sure I agree with that. I don't have a problem with players trying to get outside their man and get a cross in. After all, there was plenty behind him to sort out any problems.

I also think that it was foolish playing him on the left. You can see him having to think every step when he has the ball coming forward on the left. He's a very one footed player. Shocking in itself yes, but that's how he is.

Carra as a full back rarely gets forward.

I think they should have been swapped over so Johnson was right back.

I'm pretty certain on his natural side he'd lose the ball less in them positions as he can just play the game without having to compensate for being on his left foot and overthink everything.

But at the end of the day, even though he did mess it up, he messed it up in their half and surely his team mates have to help him out by covering properly when he goes forward, and by not diving into stupid challenges in the box when jockying was required.

He gave it away, and I know my Dad reacted much how you did, but I think it's a bit harsh. Especially when this time last month I was having a pop at him for refusing to go past the opposition full back.

His mates have to expect him to try to beat a man in an offensive position and they have to be ready for him getting caught out.

Still see no point having him on his wrong side when Carragher can be just as solid yet offensively limited at left back as he can on the right.
