Mr Ferguson in laughable Kenny 'attack'

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has accused Kenny Dalglish and Graham Taylor of having short memories as he vowed to launch a vigorous defence to a Football Association improper conduct charge later this month.

Ferguson is facing an extended touchline ban following comments about referee Martin Atkinson in the wake of his side's controversial Barclays Premier League defeat at Chelsea last week.

"I was disappointed with Graham Taylor, who wrote that I had to take 'the rough with the smooth'," Ferguson told the official match programme United Review ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final with Arsenal. "I think back to when he was England manager and was complaining to a linesman: 'The referee has got me the sack.' People have short memories."

He added: "Kenny Dalglish looked to be lecturing me in the papers about the need to respect referees, perhaps forgetting that not so long ago his players were tweeting critically all over the place about Howard Webb."

Ferguson was referring to the mock-up picture of World Cup final referee Webb in a Manchester United shirt that was posted by Ryan Babel in the aftermath of Liverpool's FA Cup third-round defeat at Old Trafford in January, which earned the Dutchman a £10,000 fine.

Taylor's comments meanwhile came during a qualifier for the 1994 World Cup when England lost to Holland in controversial circumstances and ended up being eliminated.

    He's cracking up...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Kenny hasn't put a foot wrong since being appointed. Fergie is cracking up.

Babel retweeted a picture, hardly comparable to slagging a ref off personally!

The guy is a complete idiot. He's cracking up/losing it so is trying make excuses to make him feel better about his situation. He's never got any thing nice to say about any other team or any other player. Every time he draws/loses he blames the ref or the other team for cheating.

No one likes him including half of United players and fans. His best player is going to miss two (Arsenal & Marseille) or three (Bolton) games - big deal. Rafael should have been a straight red too - doesn't matter matter whether he injured some one or not, it's the intent!

What the **** fails to see is that we were already 2-0 up before the Nani injury and even if Carra got sent off the Rafael tackle happened only a few mins later.

What a dickhead...one Liverpool player tweeted once about Howard Webb. Which most of the footballing community found funny anyway. Also, Howard Webb handed them the game in the FA Cup 3rd Round - the penalty and sending off was typical bias refereeing from Webb. He also handed them the last two games at Old Trafford.

Hope Arsenal absolutely destroy them - Howard Webb is the only reason United are still in the FA cup.

'Mr Ferguson' is a classic Rafa insult. Every other sycophant/coward in the game calls him, deferentially, 'Sir Alex'. Rafa never bought into that bollocks and continually referred to him as Mr Ferguson.
